"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

Thanks Ugarxdawg ... I was thinking the same thing. I got caught up in that Med combined thread .... Lots of great information.!

We're still in, regardless of the sitiuation in the the middle east!

Is there an onboard party planned yet? A wine tasting might be fun,s eeing we can get Spanish, French, Italian, Sicilian and Sardinian wines to try before the trip is thru.... woohoo!

I've got one of the big verandas, anyone interested?

You can count me in!! I am so looking forward to trying the different wines while I am over there!! I have been hitting the tastings at the wine store near me as they have been doing Spaish, Italian, and French lately -- how nice of them!!! :cool1:

We're still "on board" for the cruise. A lot can change between now and then - for the better and also for the worse. But, I'm a firm believer in Pixie Dust! ;) I figure that Disney would be the first to cancel the cruises if they thought there was a even a hint of danger, so as long as they're comfortable sending the ships out, then I'm comfortable being on one. :teeth:

We'd love to come to your party, been2marceline! We actually don't drink wine, but would enjoy meeting and mingling with other DISers! :goodvibes

Hi Been2marceline!

I would love to meet some fellow cruisers ... I will be travelling solo with a teenager, so some adult conversation would be great. Thanks

It will be fun getting to know each other through the DIS boards over the next 13 months as we try to wait patiently for our Mediterranean cruise! We will definitely have to set up a DIS meet on the ship! :cheer2:

We're using a photo album to get to know other disfolk on our 9/02/06 Eastern.... (coming soon :Pinkbounc ). Here is the link.

If you all are interested, I could start one for our cruise. It can password protected so only our group can access it?

What do you think?

Jeff

Great idea! After viewing the pics it makes me nostalgic for the ship! July can't get here fast enough! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :yay:

I've noticed some folks have said what room they are in. Are these just requests, or are room assignments already made?

We requested our favorite cabins when we made our reservation. You should be able to pull up your reservation on the DCL site and see what room you're in - unless you booked with a GTY.

Good luck with it.

I'm sorry. What is a GTY?

We booked through Disney Vacation Club. This is our first cruise. :cool1:

Thanks.

GTY is a guarenteed certain catagory stateroom. So if you purchased a GTY 12 you would be guarentted to be in a 12, but could get better.

Welcome aboard! You are going to love taking a Disney Cruise.

Jeff

I was looking at the room availability today and noticed that there are rooms available in almost all cats, whereas of a week or two ago, there were very few....

Did some more inventory get released? I thought this trip was pretty much sold out, except the the 9,10 and 11s.

I'm not complaining, because now I might be able to talk some friends into coming, now that there are more rooms "available".

Anybody hear anything?

:yay: Well our plane tickets are purchased now. We're stopping in London on the way for a couple of days. Then we head on to Barcelona.

What happens on the ship on boarding day? I know there is a lifeboat drill. Anything else? :bounce:

Hi all ... Well ... I'm back from my 10th Disney trip and now I'm counting down the days to the cruise. I can't believe time is going by so quickly. I just picked up a European Cruising Guide book that includes all the ports we are visiting, plus London and Paris, so I'm starting the planning stage. We just got our passports yesterday. I've checked into flights, but not booked anything yet. I still haven't decided if I'm going to visit London and Paris, or just Paris. It is cheaper to fly into London and take the train, so I am considering 4 days in each city before hitting Barcelona. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything post cruise though. My budget will probably say
"Go Home! - You've run out of money!"

:Pinkbounc 10 months to go! :Pinkbounc

In 2004 my wife and I spent 5 days in London and 5 days in Paris. If we had it to do over again, we would have spent more time in London and less time in Paris. I found Paris to be very interesting. (The Louvre :artist: , Eiffel Tower  , Notre Dame :bride: , etc.) However, I thought London was a lot more fun. (Covent Garden  , the theatre district popcorn:: , and the castles princess: ) We took a side trip to Warwick Castle.

We did take the chunnel to Paris. That was great! I had never riden a train over a long distance before. (Subways and metro don't count). We showed up to check in and I thought they took your luggage like an airline does. NOPE, you carry it on and fight for a storage space.

We are going to pack as light as possible. However, with a family of four, there is a certain minimum amount of clothes necessary. Having never taken a cruise before, what are the options for laundry on the ship? Any packing advice would be appreciated.

From what I hear there are laundry rooms on the ship. I plan on arriving in Barcelona on the 6th and doing laundry before boarding. I'm also going to look into couriering a suitcase of formal stuff to my Barcelona Hotel on the 6th. I'm going to check out Fed Ex, UPS, and other recognized couriers. If the cost is reasonable, it will be worth it. Have a little more investigating to do!

Yep. The lifeboat drill is mandatory. We'll have to wait and see what other activities Disney plans. It will be interesting reading the boards for the first Mediterian Cruise.

On our 14 day Panama Canal Cruise the laundry room was busy 24/7. We ended up utilizing the dry cleaning/laundry service via our room. It was a bit costly, but not terrible for how good the service was, and we did not spend hours (as our dining mates indicated) in the laundry room! Time v. cost in the case was worth it!
