Ahhh, I remember reading about that. I wracked my brain before asking and couldn't come up with anything. Main Street was so bad they couldn't do the festival? I wonder how much revenue they lost because of that.

I know you haven't been to DLR, but comparing DCA to DHS the rehab was so severe that imagine that you completely bypass the entry to DHS and go through backstage to enter where ToT and Rockin Rollercoaster are located. They had to COMPLETELY cut off access to the front area and send everyone back and around. There is no way they could have had any of the in park F&W events. My beef was that they still could have offered most of the Signature events which took place in the hotels, but then they wouldn't have had Celebrity presentations. I know they lost several thousands from us because we dropped a lot on the Cooking Schools and winemaker dinners.

Yes we will do the same itinerary because we want the resorts that have 1 brs with 2 bathrooms, although I might extend our Kidani trip to four nights and keep BLT at four nights. The thing is whether or not I can get the MK view. I'm pretty sure I can get the Savannah view at Kidani.

Alison, thanks for the info, that does sound extreme. It just speaks to Disneys dedication to making things better. They didn't let the loss stop from doing improvements. I hope they bring the F&W back soon so you can give them your dollars

I found out last week while I was away on travel that my DH David was being laid off from his job. He has worked for this company for 19 years. The only job he has had beside being in the Army.

He is a disabled veteran who fought in two different wars and this is how he is treated by the company he has stood by for 19 years.

I am heartsick, and he is heart broken. He has done so much for the people who work for him, stood up for them when the company wanted them fired, he has gone before the customer to plead people's cases for them, he has given way too much of his time to fix all the problems and create a well functioning team. He has taken pressure off his boss above him by doing more than is required for his position and the guy just told him "hey we can't keep you on, you are gone by the end of the month". That was it, no explanation, nothing... just we got to let you go.

I think my David deserves more than that.

Am I being biased b/c he is my DH, or do companies these days just not care about people anymore?

David is just so upset right now, he has made himself sick. He can't eat, he can't sleep. He mind can not stop thinking of all the wrongs.

First of all, I am sorry you are having to deal with this Brandi, and especially David for being slapped in the face.

I do think that most companies do not value time in anymore. They would rather hire people cheaper who are younger so they can push them around and enjoy hobbling by at 50% efficiency if it helps the bottom line. I don't know when this will stop, but there ARE still some good companies out there and I hope he is able to find a better job at one of them soon. I lost my job after 5 years in last July, but am now working a job that is much better, more low key and better paying at a place i love. It could end up being the best thing that ever happens to you both, and I hope that is the case!
