I think you'd have better luck requesting a trail, upper floor, lower floor, near elevator type requests.

We've only had 1 stay at AKL in 2009, and we were on Kudu Trail with Sunset Savanna view, 4th floor i think. It was very nice.
Many like Zebra trail because it's on the same side of resort as pool & Mara. Take a look at resort map. You'd be on Uzima Savanna on that side, unless you booked Arusha View category.

Some prefer the higher views, for a more panoramic view, others like to be on lower floor to be closer to the animals.

I wouldn't like lobby floor room, because of all the foot traffic to elevator in front of your room. Many don't understand inside voice, If your room was past the elevators it would be less of a problem.

Everything is fine here, even though work is busier here at the moment than I would like... We are going to miss each other again - I am planning for April. I really enjoyed the warmer weather in October on the last trip and am hoping to get nice and warm but not yet unbearably hot in April. I am still experimenting to find the best time of year!

Jambo! glad you jumped in The F & G Festival is so beautiful. I'll be there next March myself. Make sure to check out who is doing concerts when the schedule comes out.

I have seen so many pictures of the F&G Festival and I think Epcot has a different quality during that time. Very excited about it! And thanks for the reminder of the concerts. I really should make sure that I see at least one!

On our previous stays there, we've spent a lot of time at the parks. For this trip, we are staying 10 nights so that we can take advantage of the resort more.

We've used the pool and tried the night vision goggles, but that's about it.
Anyone have any great tips or favorite activities at AKL?

Also, we've booked a Boma for dinner on Sunday. Anyone have favorite foods we should try? I know that the selection rotates. I could also book this dinner for Wednesday. Anyone know if Wednesday or Sunday are better?

I have to admit this must have been before my time or in between my times. I did kind of a drive by before my first stay at Jambo House in 2009 and then I came back in late 2010 once I had booked my very brief stay in January 2011. I have been around since then and the people on here have become almost like family since then. I am not going anywhere now.

At Boma I loved the She Crab Soup, had it once- can't for the life of me remember which day it's served. Wish I knew. Anyone know?
I've eatten at Boma several times since, and it's never there.

We also enjoyed the Culinary Tour, and the evening Cultural Talks in the Living Room past the Concierge Desk. they were always informative and fun.
There are CMs around Arusha Rock that are very informative.

Also, has anyone gotten an awesome view in a room with a king bed that they remember the room number of? We have a queen at home and I like the extra space on vacation if I can get it.

Welcome, congrats on your trip!! - We are owners, so we always get a king bed - I agree with the op who suggested trail, floor, savannah view - I'm not sure they would honor a ROOM NUMBER request.

Yeah I am all booked, super excited to go. We have a saying here that the days are long but the weeks are short. How is it that it is almost mid-july? and thursday allready? And how has it been 4 days since I lasted posted on this thread I swore it was yesterday that I did.

My little girl turned 11 months old today hopefully I get to skype with her and see her open presents/eat cake on her birthday next month.

YAY!!! It's coming up soon!!! This past trip we were there for 3 weeks - enjoyed a lot of pool time. Near the check in desk, there will be an activities chart - it'll tell you everything going on at both resorts - yes, you can use the amenities at both - sometimes if the pool is crowded, they won't let you - but, i'm sure you're good!! Also, at Kidani - check out community hall - tons of stuff for the kiddos to do!! Enjoy!!!
