Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Bravo Disney for not cheaping out. I was thinking they would just use a screen for the cottage scene and maybe the old witch statue from the old ride and call it nostalgia. No they actually took the time to make AA's you only see dancing for a moment. That's great to see.
Well they definitely had enough time to make them I'm also very glad they did this.

Not impressed! 4 years for this?????

Compare this ride to Splash Mountain which took a fraction of the time to make. No comparison!!!!!!!!

No way I am drinking the Kool-Aid.

Well it was more three years for this ride because it was added to the project late. Also at least this wasn't a test track debacle which took like 6 years to open.

Modern Disney to me is all Show and no Go. Milk everything for what its worth, hype, hype and more hype with very little substance.

This ride could be good if it had like 2 extra scenes in it. One little scene in the middle? Really????? Four years for this? Come on. Are you people asleep or what? Back in the 80's and 90's when Disney took pride in what they did would go to town on a project like this in a fraction of the time.

I am going to MK on May 4th. Hoping it will be open... I'm planning a MK Day on the 8th in case it's packed on the 4th. :::Crosses fingers:::

It has two scenes that middle scene with the dwarfs mining and a end scene with the evil with and Snow White

Don't waste your time. The haters are going to hate the ride and have planned to hate on it sense it being built. The only thing they see is the time frame which I agree was long, but that doesn't mean the finished product cant be good. And the AAs on this ride are FAR ahead of those on SM.

Lets compare this scene (which is not really a full on scene) to the end scene in Splash Mountain, shall we?

I can't believe you guys are pumped that Disney did not do cut outs with the 5 second cottage scene. Talk about slim pickings and not asking for much. 3 years people, lets repeat 3 YEARS FOR THIS.

Universal is laughing and so is Disney for pulling this one over on all of you.

First Splash Mountain and this ride are two different things. Splash Mountain is a ride through the story of Song of the South. This a fast moving coaster where you are IN the world that they are in. So that's why you are in THEIR mine. What sense would it make to have scenes everywhere if you zip past them?! Also the AAs in this new ride are way more advanced then Splash Mountain.

Next, don't even begin the Universal versus Disney crap and act like they have been building these amazing high tech rides with the most amazing AA's and Disney is now playing catch up. Yes the ride took a while to build and yes Universal builds fast. But let us recap what they have done. Harry Potter was a ride with screens and a couple AAs although they weren't the most advanced things and they aren't now for sure. Don't forget the retheme of the two coasters since Universal can get away with that. Despicable Me was a retheme with the same ride system and a nice queue to start with but they then cheaped out towards the end. Simpsons once again a retheme. The Simpsons expansion was just some eateries and a spinner. Transformers is a bunch of screens with no amazing AAs or anything. Will the new area be AA loading and high tech from top to bottom? Who knows? Will it be cool? Sure. But stop with the hate...then again what else should be expected since you have planned from the beginning to hate on it. Why not look at the finished product and see the detail and attention they put into everything?

I can't wait until this summer when I will get to ride this it looks incredible!

I agree universal is a lot of simulation and I love that Disney doesn't do a lot of that. Universal also keeps building fast because they are trying to play catch up. Comcast wants to try to get where Disney is. Disney just keeps going along minding their own business because they know universal isn't going to stump them anytime soon. Yes universal is gaining on them but they still need a lot of market share and attendance numbers to even come close.

Lets make it crystal clear here. I am not a supporter of Universal. I could care less for their simulator motion sickness rides. What I am a huge supporter of is Disney of yesteryear. The only reason why I say Universal is laughing is they will be thinking "thank goodness Disney cheaped out and did not raise the bar again. That means less pressure on us!!!".

Just imagine Frank Wells and Eisner working on this project? Now that would be something. You're only fooling yourself if you think this ride can compare to Splash Mountain which was made 20 plus years ago. The AA's on Seven dwarfs are great!! Not knocking that, but really how many are there? Like 7 tops, just another chapter of modern Disney scrapping the pot of scraps and the masses gobbling it up like they are starving.

I for one loved the snow white ride growing up and was sad when it left. Now its back should be better and its a mini coaster I can enjoy and take the smaller of my children on.....

Yes they did exactly what I had hoped for in Fantasyland!

Yea cause Eisner would have done a great job with it. Im not understanding where they cheaped out on this? Yes it took a while but that doesn't mean they cheaped out. I haven't ridden this personally, but from I can see everything is top notch to the detail. they now use swinging cars, something never before seen in the theme parks or at least the Orlando theme parks. To cheap out would have meant doing things like not using AAs in the last scene or using static figures from like Winnie the Pooh in the mine. Once again Splash is great but they are two totally different rides. And like how many AAs do you want in the ride? Snow White is not a movie heavy on characters. In fact there is 11 or 12 if you count the mirror. 9 of them are showen in this ride. I think that is pretty good.

Listen I would have no problem with this attraction if they hyped it up for what it really is. The problem is they milked it for 3 plus years and acted like they were building the E tickets of all E tickets. This attraction is not and I repeat not an E ticket, simple as that, case closed. Now Tower of Terror that is an E ticket, Splash Mountain E ticket, Haunted Mansion E ticket. A two minute scaled down Thunder Mountain mixed with a two scene Fantasyland dark ride is not an E ticket.

Hmm, interesting. All this expert commentary when no one has actually ridden the thing yet.

Still you are comparing to other rides when it is its own thing. The ride yes was hyped. Not the rides fault. Also you are talking about a coaster at the center of Fantasyland. I don't think you could have honestly expected an Everest to be place there did you? Some people are going to love it others are going to hate it. Each is going to have their reasons and believe they are right. We will just have to agree to disagree and agree to wait and pass judgment AFTER we have all ridden the ride or at least seen a complete walk through of the queue and ride. And who knows if the ride is an E ticket. Who became the expert on deciding once and for all what ticket each ride is?
