I'm so excited! Our trip is planned to be May 3-10 so it looks like our timing is perfect. We are getting so tired of seeing the construction walls every single year!

They are holding a media event April 30th. May 2nd is supposedly the opening date as leaked on social media there is supposed to be an opening event at 10:15am.

I have heard of possible CM previews around May 6th? From reliable sources.

I'll be watching for the dvc or ap soft opening. We arrive April 30 but leave for the cruise the next day may 1 then return back yo wdw on May 4. Hope we don't miss it. But we're there until may 18 so are chances are good we'll catch somewhere

I'm just glad it's pretty much a sure thing that it'll be open by September. The way they kept saying "some time in 2014", I was getting nervous. When we went in 2010, the walls were just going up and we couldn't WAIT to go back in 2012 so the walls would be down but we missed it by just a week or two. I am so excited to see all of the new Fantasyland FINALLY!!!!

We'll be there the 8th to the 18th of May!! I'll def be checking daily to see if we can get a FP+!!!

yes usually it's during park hours but it's also usually earlier in the morning. May 2nd it's supposed to be at 10:15. The media event is planned for April 30th and I don't know a time but the Dis team will be there. In the past they have had imagineers there doing interviews and discussing the ride tech and stuff like that. They also probably will let the media ride the mine train as well.

~If the mine train opens to the public on May 1st -- FP+ should have been available by now. I'm going to guess that Disney is not going to release FP+ until the ride is open to the general public. Hopefully, FP+ and Magic Bands will be ready to go around that time, as well! We'll see.

No they wouldn't, because Disney hasn't officially announced the opening as May 1st. Just this week when they revealed the logo for the ride, the person who made the blog post said that they still don't have an official opening date. Like I've been saying, if the Anna/Elsa move to MK is any kind of a preview of what to expect for the Mine Train, they will likely add FP+ soon after officially announcing the day, which will probably be late March/early April, hopefully.

You must have been there the same time as we were in 2012. It think it opened about 10 days after we left. I'm also looking forward to seeing FL without all the construction walls

Hoping they'll open to public by May 3th? Just after the press dates. If they don't release FP+ be ready to make a dash run to it, with other 1000 crazy riders hahaha. I'll be one of those for sure.

I was just thinking the same thing! We have plans to be in MK on May 2nd as well. I really don't want to change all our plans around, but if it's going to be super crowded.....hmm....Also, for what it's worth-I was on the phone with a CM the other day who was helping me fix some FP+ problems and I asked him if he knew when the FP+ would be available for the Mine Train. He laughed and replied that he didn't know when they would be available or even IF they were going to be available!

My HS senior daughter just returned from a school field trip for Physics and Calculus students (Extreme Engineering).
She got to see what she described as a "Dancing Snow White" animatronic for the ride, "with all the wires still hanging out"

She was told the ride should be open in May.
