Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

I'm not saying I wouldn't give them a chance but HP isn't going to get me there cause I'm not a fan of it but that's just me I know plenty of other people. I've only been to universal once and it just wasn't for me. I also understand that many people are unfamiliar with universal and their parks.

I am a HP and that alone won't get me to Universal because none of their other movies or characters interest me much. I am sure I would enjoy HP if I went, but again I like WDW too much and the experience I get there to sacrifice time at this moment to go and see HP.

Will that change once the second HP land opens?

Here's my conclusion out of this thread - everybody goes to WDW for different reasons and has different expectations of a vacation to WDW. Some go for the rides, while others go for the atmosphere. Some people now enjoy Universal more because of rides, while others still prefer WDW.

To each their own! We all have what we look for in a vacation.

As for the majority, honestly none of us here know what the majority of people want when they head to WDW or Orlando. We can speculate, but we really don't know. So, we can just keep enjoying the vacations we enjoy and put our money where we want to and others can do the same! :thumbsup2

Here is my conclusion of this thread - some people are so closed-minded that it makes no sense to try to rationalize with them.

If I am close-minded about MY vacation, why do you even care? I am entitled to take the vacation I want and if that is going to WDW and staying on the property on 7 days that is fine because it makes me happy.

I may be slightly close minded about Universal and DLR, but hey I will admit it and I get to choose how I will enjoy my vacation.

A excellent post, Most love Disney and go to the parks for there own reasons.

There is a limited vocal number that cannot get beyond the thrill rides and look at Uni with rose colored glasses in that way. Its fine for them ........enjoy UNI, but there is so much more a WDW, almost all of which UNI doesn't have.

To each their own.

I started posting on this thread to share a view that I have that I am sure a few others do. I wanted people to see a different side of stuff, I don't think I changed anyone's mind which is fine because we are all entitled to what we want on a vacation. I just think people go to WDW for much more than rides and wanted to express that and get a different side of things into the argument.

My take away from this thread is that the Disney fans that have defended their position on this thread are labeled as "kool aid drinkers", closed minded, and unable to be rationalized with.

They don't push the envelope anymore. Their last big coaster, Everest, is decent, but then the big payoff is broken, and will never work again. I think Dinosaur was the beginning of WDW's spiral down. Disney took one of the greatest rides on the planet, to this day, and totally copied it. We're talking copying a ride that more than a decade after it opened is still a huge draw, having an hour wait most of the time. A ride that has a clone that also has an hour plus wait all the time. However, WDW's copy is essentially a walkon all the time because its concept and execution was so poor. And is now based on a movie that probably 90% of the people riding it don't even know existed.

If you are implying that Dinosaur copied Spider-Man (and Transformers), then you forget about Indiana Jones at DLR. It was the first EMV ride system and Dinosaur is more a clone of it than anything. It predates Spider-Man. Actually, according to Wiki, Dinosaur also predates Spider-Man, but only by about a year. Who copied who?

I've got one last question for you, UNC before you are officially blocked...why is it that you make no other posts on this board ANYWHERE that doesn't somehow involve me, mom2rtk, Shaden, Laketravis, Missyrose, Mesaboy2, Robo ,bcrook or rat?

Care to answer?:rolleyes1

I thought rastuso was referring to Indiana Jones at DLR and then Disney Sea. And I have to agree that Dinosaur is a very sad ride after you've done Indie.

I agree with you some people are strictly WDW, some universal and some are both. But on the boards we are in the minority we make up a very very small number that is in WDW everyday. If I lived in Florida I would be at the parks all the time I probably would have been to universal a few more times to see what they have to offer but I'm not and I choose to spend my 7 days at my favorite resort traveling to the Disney parks because that's what my family has always loved to do.

Somehow an unwieldy number of all these people who go to WDW for different reasons end up backlogged in line for the same attractions all the time. :confused3
