Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

It's been ridiculous for a while. Borderline was passed 8 months ago. :thumbsup2

I'm a huge Disney fan, but I think EasyWDW Josh had a good take on it. It took Universal less time to put up a headliner Transformers ride than it did for Disney to expand the MK Bus Depo!!

The pace for expansion is mind-bogglingly slow.

I will be upset if it's not up and running by Memorial Day... I know Disney makes an experience and yes I know they put in added details. But this is not a huge coaster. Coaster themselves can be put up quickly. It's the extras that take time

I will be upset to if it is not running by Memorial day. That is when we are going and I have been excited to ride it but now I find out it isnt finshed yet:confused3

It wasn't expected to be finished yet spring was the target

I agree. I'm going to be sad and disappointed if it isn't running by the time my trip gets here on March 22. (Hey, that's spring - by 1 whole day!!) I'll be sad, disappointed, and pretty upset if it isn't running by my trip in July. I just can't keep on going to Disney this frequently.

We always go in late May and have so far hit every soft opening for any ride/park they say is to open in "spring". Chances are it won't be open for the public but if your a vacation member or annual pass holder you'll get on it during your stay. :thumbsup2

I hate to sound entitled, but I have to agree. When my sister took her family in October 2012 and got in on soft opening, I was so jealous... but, I thought that I would have one up because I'd be experiencing the full land (mine train and all) when I visited 15 months later. Guess I was wrong... How can it possible take this long? So disappointed right now!
Well first of i don't understand why everyone is panicking it still looks on pace to open in spring as originally stated. The ride track is done imagineers have been seen riding on it as reported by people in the park. There are plenty of videos out there of the train running on the tracks. It's all detail work being done now and disney is all about detail they are not going to let it be opened with out it looking its absolute best. If it's not opened by May that means something happened that pushed it back but by the looks of it now it looks like its going to open in spring as previously stated.

Thank you for sharing the video link, it was really interesting :goodvibes.

Well, I hope you are right, we are DVC members and would love to see a soft opening (we will be there over Memorial Day Weekend). However, I would really like to see a full opening for everyone to enjoy.

Gosh that is taking FOREVER. I went last April and they were in the process of building it. SLOW!!! Maybe it has to do with payroll so they are milking it :rotfl:

Keep in mind the Mine Train is an entirely new ride concept. Transformers is a copy of an existing ride, just re-themed.

I am wondering if they are milking it to coincide with the opening of the Harry Potter expansion over at Universal ( which is rumored for June 2014)

I have felt for some time like that was playing into it.

But I also think they want FP+ fully functioning for everyone in the MK before they open it. And that hasn't exactly gone as smoothly as planned.

I think this is more likely the cause of delays. It wouldn't have FP- as a new ride, and they have to make sure that the FP+ is working correctly.

I don't know how many of you remember the problems and delays they had with Test Track. Compared to that debacle, this seems minor.

Hope not for Disney's sake. Harry Potter vs. themed kiddie coaster equals a big win for Universal.

I just think that this is the timeline that was planned. They wanted people to plan one vacation for Little Mermaid and another for the Mine Train.

I just hope it is open by the time we get there in August :)

We come in on Memorial Day so I'm hoping too! Although I'd rather they ensure its safe rather than to rush to appease us for a quick opening. My money is on a soft opening the end of April.
