To clear up, what appears to be major confusion regarding just how short the inside portion of this ride is, I made the following to sort things out. Disney did NOT leave much out of the POV video that was posted yesterday.

http://youtu.be/CX4REwQeDEY

The following depicts where those scenes are in relation to ride layout. Here is the layout zoomed in to capture the "dark ride" portion of it.

And here are screen captures from the video that show where they take place inside...

Scene A

Scene B

Scene C

Scene D

The only parts NOT SHOWN in the video is the first lift hill, the short section between A and B, and the short section between C and D. The entire outside track section is shown.

I hope this clears it up for those who think there is some major inside portion that wasn't shown. Pretty much what you saw is what you get, minus the Dwarfs.

I would not call that disappointing. Certainly no Splash Mountain as far as dark ride portions but looks fun. Honestly, if they slow the train down quite a bit through the tunnels, and add a lot of neat things to look at, and make you feel really immersed in the mine portion, I still think it could be approaching e-ticket level. Especially if the rocking cars give you a fun, unique thrill on the outside parts.

They also did not show the end scene in the cottage before unload.

There are rumors of a show scene at the top of the first, smaller lift hill -- there is a entrance to the mine to the side near the tip of the hill. The vehicle might even stop for a bit in that area to peer into the show scene.

As for for the mine scenes, while you are correct about what is missing, it's far from clear what that would involve. They cut them out for a reason, so it would make sense that they are something of value that they are trying to keep a surprise.

True about the cottage scene.

The train is quite long so if it stopped then I would assume that someone would miss whatever the "show scene" might be considering they would be halfway down the first lift hill. :confused3 If anything, I would think the buzzards might do something there.

The section between A and B will have breaks to slow the train down. It isn't crawling into scene A from the POV, and once again, it's a long train.

~Great post. I totally agree with this! I think the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train deserves to be an E Ticket -- a lot of work and exceptional detail has gone into this ride! :yay:

~Fabulous post! I totally agree with this. It's quite obvious that Disney cut out the most significant aspects of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I think there is more to it than this video that offers just a small glimpse of the mine train. I really can't wait to see it! :cool1:

Ummmm.... NO, it's not approaching E ticket. Radiator a Springs Racers is only a D+ ticket.

Uhhh, they left the cottage out at the end, but not much else. Show me where it would be based on that diagram?

And this is NO E ticket by any stretch.

Yeah, there is no way this ride could be in any way considered an E-ticket attraction. However, for a kiddie coaster it looks OK and I do want to check it out at some point.

Basically it's a low thrill family coaster with a cool theme. Not an E-ticket and not really something worth a long line wait but kids will find it fun.

I think this attraction has the potential to redefine "E ticket." Maybe there's something to be said about the art/theming and total experience vs. the "thrill" aspect. How thrilling are HM, POTC, Peter Pan? But the experience is worth going to WDW. This is kind of thing that Disney can do that leaves the other theme parks in the dust. Let's hope they can pull it off. :earsboy:

I think it is going to be E-ticket also. It is going to be the centerpiece of Fantasyland. The reason it will be E-ticket is the combination of elements. A family coaster by itself isn't much, but with the dark ride elements, cool theming, swinging cars, and some new animatronics. All of this together will make a great ride. Exactly what MK needed. MK did not need Rockin' Rollercoaster.

At least until June of this year. ;)

There's nothing wrong with it being a C ticket ride. At all. It's going to be very well themed, and a lot of kids (and adults) are really going to enjoy it. :confused3

I completely agree. I have said from day one that the themeing will be good. I never doubted that. It's something new. I don't think most people would argue that's a bad thing.

But, Rat...I would totally put RS into the E ride category, myself. That ride is sweet.

I look forward to checking out both the Mine Train this year...and Potter 2.0 when it's not so banana sandwich crazy. lol
