Need to book FP+ next month, and wondering if I should include the Mine Train. I'm a big scaredy cat- won't do roller coasters, Splash Mtn, or Tower of Terror. I will do Dinosaur and Test Track. I have heard the Mine Train is family-friendly, like Barnstormer-ish, but then I heard it SWINGS and I'm back to :scared1:. I want to be sure to book FP+ if there's a chance we'll go on it... Is it really tame?

The DISUnplugged team reports that you barely feel the swinging motion and that it is super smooth. Somewhere between Barnstormer at BTMRR.

I can't answer from first hand experience because as of right now no one has ridden this ride aside from Cast Members doing testing.

But one of this cast members took a video of the full ride. I haven't watched it so as not to see stuff that might otherwise be a fun surprise but you might watch it and determine if the ride is okay for you: http://youtu.be/9A4vjeYLcXw

And I would say that it is going to be one of the hardest FP+s to get so go head and pre-book it when the chance comes and think on it some more. Easier to change out of it closer to your trip than to change to it.

I'm a scaredy cat too. The only coaster I tolerate at all is BTMRR - I don't even like Barnstormer. I have a FP+ for next month because I feel I should try it once - but I am still on the fence as to whether I'll keep it or not. My concern is the banked turns - they look very steep to me, and with the swinging cars, I have a feeling I may not like that part at all.

Hi! Fellow scaredy cat here!
I'm doing it. BTMR was okay for me, but I find myself not going back on, TT I've done a few times, but also am set with it. Did Dinosaur once and am doing it again.
Otherwise I don't do the obvious scaredy rides.
However, the video looks cool, and I'm pretty sure I can handle this one.
I think if you handled BTMR, but then just didn't prefer to go back on it, you'll be okay on this one, as less scaredy.

My DH won't ride any thrill rides either and I really want him to ride 7 Dwarves with me in November, so I just keep calling it "The 7 Dwarves Mine Train Ride" and haven't mentioned the word coaster. I hope he will get on it with me.

This thread is right up my ally, same here. I am the one that stands, takes pictures and holds everything. I rode TT, didn't love it, even Soarin gets me a little nervous in the beginning.

My daughters said this trip "Mom, gets some meds or something and have fun"
So I am braving the 7DMT, which thrilled my family, not sure if I will tackle anything else...and besides, who will hold all the bags, take photos and let them enjoy it.

As a guy who used to do the coasters but then middle age made things a little more queasy... if it is the queasiness then you might read up on possible remedies (of course checking with your pharmacist or doc). I took both a half tablet of Bonine and put on Seabands and had a wonderful time on roller coasters at my local amusement park. We all are affected differently but oone or both of those things kept the world from spinning so I could go "screaming" with my girls as we hurtled along the tracks.

Nope, not gonna chance it. I'm going to manage in life without ever having done the Seven dwarfs mine train. One time, right after EE opened, I went and really wanted to love it. I felt so sick after one ride that I had to sit for several hours before I even had the stomach to do the most gentle ride-the train out to Rafiki's Planet Watch. My feeling is that here's just too much fun to be had at WDW for me to chance sitting for several hours feeling sick to my stomach again. Besides, someone mentioned that it's like BTMRR and Barnstormer, two rides I don't really like. Now that's being a scary cat!

I would say no if it were just you. Since it's going to be immensely popular, there's no reason why you should book the FP+ if you're doubtful about it when so many others would be super excited to ride. However, since you indicated that there are other people in your group, you should book it if they want to ride it.
