DH says yes. It has similar power requirements to my hairdryer, which is allowed.

I say no, while it doesn't have an exposed heating element I think it would be too much for the power system in the cabin.

While it would be wonderful to have fresh popcorn for the movies...;)

From DCL's Prohibited Items FAQ:
Electrical appliances such as rice cookers, hot plates, coffee makers, electric irons, bottle sterilizer and bottle warmers, etc.

so I would think a hot air popcorn popper falls into the etc. part of this.

We were surprised on the Carnival Dream that they had fresh popped popcorn that they served during the movies in the evenings by the pool on the Lido deck. They had it available for free at the Pool bar.

While I agree with the idea that it would be wonderful, It would be considered a fire hazard and not allowed.

I had to call DCL for something today anyway, so I asked the question. They said absolutely not.

We bring on our own chocolate caramel popcorn for the movies. :) Divvies brand, ordered to our Disney hotel pre-cruise or bought at one of the WDW stores. One small bag is enough for two movies for two people. Mmm... popcorn!

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed.

Thanks everyone for the answers, I can respond to DH armed and ready.

That's one thing I really wish Disney had - hot buttered fresh popcorn for the movie theatre. That, I would even pay for. The same can't be said for those bags they sell - not nearly as tasty as fresh and not worth the $$$ IMO.

Also Holland America provides fresh, free popcorn before a movie starts in their cinema. Room for improvement for Disney.

You can bring in food and drinks. :thumbsup2

Just an FYI (I know you're probably not bringing it anymore but) if you bring something like that and the security line guy "catches" you, he'll take it away and give you a tag to redeem it on the way out of the cruise.

My mom accidentally brought a hot water pitcher (the kind that looks like a Brita pitcher that boils when you plug it in) from our 4 day DVC stay and it was flagged and taken from her. She was pretty embarassed but the security guy says that people forget all the time and that no plug in appliances like that are allowed.
