Well, DH has finally had it with me scrapping on the dining room table. He's put his foot down that I have to be out of there by Thanksgiving. I hate to move, bc my dining table with the leaves in it seats 10 so I have a huge space, but I understand his frustration. We redecorated the room last year, and when it's not covered in my stuff, it's a gorgeous room.

Anyway, I need your help! I am going to move down to DD's playroom in the basement. She's 9 so I don't have to worry anymore about her or her friends getting into my stuff. I went to Staples and bought a good chair and a six foot folding table. I also bought a clip-on lap with a magnifier. There is an existing armoire I can use in part, DD has her American Girl stuff in it too.

I own a PSB, a Crop in Style XL tote, and a Crop in Style paper taker, which I hate. I find it's too cramped.

I need your suggestions as to how to organize the space. I have a wall above the table, and I have about 3 feet on either side of it. What do you do with your paper? I use 12x12 and I am at a loss to find a good way to store it outside that stupid paper taker thing.

Any & all suggestions would be welcome! TIA!

Take a look at my space in my siggy link. Your table & 3 feet each side sort of sound like what I have.

My paper has recently moved to a bin under the table. The last pictures are the most recent pictures.

Enjoy your space!

Once our family room is done this our next project! I don't want much! A table that is sturdy. Found one at Ikea I think will work. I bought cubes from Target to use for paper. small book case would be nice. I really would like to work either in a U shape or L SO I may get a file cabnet or something like that.
If my DH said go for it I would jump for joy! The thought of being able to leave my stuff out is a dream!
Good luck

Storage for your 12x12 paper, I use the 12x12 big square thingys by Cropper Hopper that hold hanging files. Started out with 2 of them and now I'm up to 4. (Paper aholic) I always get them at Michaels with 40% off. And they come with a stand of which I only use one of them. I really like these cuz you can organize easily in the different files and they keep you paper nice.

Have fun in your new space.

Well, the other night my DH decided to give me a hand with the project. He moved all my stuff down to the playroom and I started setting up. After 2 hours, I knew I'd hate it down there! It was too dark, and too much was going on upstairs that I would be disconnected from. So, I decided to totally re-arrange my home office (I work from home, my company is located in Chicago & I am in NH). Seven hours later, it's just about done.

I have taken everything out of the closet in there, and converted it to scrapping storage. I got an 8 drawer plastic chest which claimed to be 13 inches but is not...however, I have still put it to good use for lots of smaller stuff. From Target I got these cool wire stackable bins which are 12.5x12.5 so hold my paper perfectly. My 8.5x11 paper right now is in a file box. Not sure where it will be permanently. I keep all my scissors & adhesives in a basket on the table (5 ft. long, folding, $25 from Staples), and my cutting system is on top of a filing cabinet. I have my PSB and my sticker portfolios on closet shelf. And my Crop in Style XL is under the table.

I am SO SO SO SO HAPPY with this.

DH is SO SO SO SO HAPPY that the scrap crap as he calls it is out of the dining room with 2+ weeks to go before the deadline.

Thanks everyone for the tips and advice. I used every last bit of it.

I love my scrap room!!!!! I work in a U-shaped area - starting with an 8' table against the main wall and then two more smaller tables completing the U. I have lots of shelves and baskets and plastic boxes to hold all of gadgets. Everything is labled and at easy reach. I have shelves built above my table - great lighting - and my small TV for company.

I love organizing and reorganizing to make everything even more accessible to me.

It's my favorite room in the house!!!!::yes::

My scrap room is my walk in closet. It is huge. I have my desk which has a book case on top of it. My hubby built shelves on the side wall. I also got two 5 drawer storage containers. And there is lots of room for the close. I am not cramped at all. I think building shelves is one of the best things you can do. Good luck.
