Setting my expectations?

Comparing apples to apples, you should be blown away by a 1BR at Kidani vs. a value resort.

Some guests however, are much happier paying $66 per night with a discount at a value resort vs. the premium of paying for points/cash at a deluxe dvc. I, however, am most certainly not one of those people!

My prediction is that staying at Kidani will ruin you (spoil you) from ever staying at a value again:)

I have to agree with this! Value rooms are clean but TINY. There isn't even a closet, just a bar for hanging some things next to the sink. Beds are double where in a 1 Bd you will have a queen or a king plus the pull out couch.

And if you are at all inclined to spend some time at the pool, again there will be no comparison between what you've experienced at a value resort.

Just curious if anyone has had experience shipping to a Luxury resort? My wife is planning to ship a USPS flat rate box down on Thursday. This is 8 days prior to our arrival. We should be at the resort some time after 11PM Friday of the following week.

Do you mean a Deluxe Resort?

Shipping to BLT, BWV, BCV, will be intercepted by IKON, a contracted vendor who runs Disney's convention package handling and they will charge you a small fee.

The other DVC resorts use Bell Services to process packages, no fee but they expect a tip.

LOL...I did in fact mean Deluxe. Must've been a Freudian slip!

OK, so for AKV, the bell desk will have it for me. Does the timing shipping from Pittsburgh, PA to Orlando via USPS seem ok? It's 8 days lead time.

I would ship via FedEx or UPS. Both websites will tell you how long it will take and the package will go direct to AKV. USPS mail goes to a sorting facility at WDW and can cause additional delays.

You can pick up the package at Bell Services or call down and have it delivered to your room. They should call you when they receive the package.

I think Kidani will blow you away!!! The rooms are so nice and big and the decor is amazing. The pool area is so great. We love spending time there and the kids love the pool parties.

Just got back and we LOVED Kidani Village. Huge rooms with very cool authentic decor. We were very pleased with our stay. 2 minor gripes and hardly worth noting but...very little overhead lighting in our rooms so it was fairly dark and the distance to "The Mara" (the quick service restaurant) located at Jambo House.

But everything else was spectacular. We got to see lots of animals from our balcony and enjoyed the shower immensely as it was large and had very cool tiles. My little ones loved taking baths in the spa tub.

We want to keep trying different Villas but this one was awesome.

See that? We told you you'd be impressed.

I find this to be an issue in many of the villas, especially around the bathroom mirror. They've started using lower-output energy efficient lights, and you're right, there aren't that many lights in the rooms to begin with.

I hope you're right! :)

When we go back in November we are doing it with extended family and we have a 2 BR and a studio at BLT. Just a standard view but looking forward to being so close to MK!

Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!

I saw on an earlier post of yours when you were talking about the value resorts with the beds only 15" between them. At BLT, in the studio, there might be even less room between the queen sized bed and the double sized sleeper sofa when it is opened up. And there is even less room than that between the sleeper sofa and the window. So beware.

The majority of the free space in the BLT studio is in the hallway from the door to the main space and the bathroom.

Fortunately, there are only 2 people staying in the studio.
And I'm not one of them!:lmao:

We stayed at the Values and luxuries but when we bought at SSR we have stayed at a different place each year starting at Wilderness Lodge, then AKV at Jambo House, Beach Club, SSR, and Kidani most recently. Though we loved them all (my kids especially love Beach Club for the pool) the most space for us has been at Kidani. We stayed in the one bedroom and boy were we spoiled. The master bath is glorious, the second bath for the kids was perfect, the king bed is absolutely over the top, having our own balcony was wonderful as I am an early riser and sat and watched the animals enter the Savanah from the night pens each morning with my coffee (fantastic). The pull out chair was great since by son and daughter can't sleep together without causing a major row and I didn't want to give up my bed. We don't eat in the room but has lots of snacks available for the kids, the trip to Jambo at that time was walking but there always seemed to be a golf cart to pick up each each time we started off, now with a shuttle that should be even better. We alway ate at the park or at the pool which is terrific, the work out room is marvelous. I didn't know how convenient that washer/dryer would be or I would have packed less. We're going to BWV this year since EPCOT is our fav park and we are going in April during the Flower and Garden, heard we will have to hoof it but really not a problem the walkways are really a pleasure and the boardwalk always has lots going on anyway so we meander alot. Hope you have Kidani as much as we did the animal viewing was the best I've ever seen and every staff member is knowledgeable about them.
