Setting Alerts

Perhaps what I am assuming a Disboard alert is may be incorrect. I want to set up a way for me to get a notification whenever someone creates or mentions a specific term. Is this possible? I click on the Alert symbol by my account name in the upper right and it just takes me to an alert page which currently says I have none. It doesn't have anything to creating an alert.

The "alerts" (the little bell symbol in the upper right) are notifications that you were tagged in a post, somebody quoted your post, or there is new activity in watched threads/watched forums. I don't believe there is any way to set up an alert based on a key term.
