Who we are: me and my DH, no kids, around 30 years
Our 3rd trip together

Day 3: Thanksgiving!

We got up EARLY- well early for Seth, 5:30! We got to MK before the gates opened. We had thought we could get on the bus before 7am, but they don't start running until 7. So we had a hot breakfast at the food court this day. Yuck. But the MK was wonderful! I love doing EE for this park. We got in at 7.30, the Christmas decorations and music were going, and we could still see our breath! We were able to do Buzz, I drove and Seth saved the galaxy, then the Tea Cups, then Pooh twice (a good ride!), Peter Pan, and Small World. Wow! We are done! Now to the rope drop and into Frontierland and I did Big Thunder RR. DH doesn't like rollercoasters. The park was open and getting crowded so we left for MGM. We took the monorail to the TTC and we got to ride up front! It was way worth it. It was neat to see us go through the Contemporary.

We got to MGM and got a fastpass for Rockin Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror. I ended up using them both, DH chickened out of ToT. We got to do the Animation tour, Muppets, and walk around. The FP's came up so I went back and did both IN 30 MINUTES! I was shocked! Why are more people not using these? I walked all the way up to the bell hop in ToT and people just dumbly stared at me as I passed the 70 min. long line. It was wonderful. I'd never done RRC and was much impressed. They shoot you right away into 2 loops! Wild! It was as good as Space Mountain in Disneyland Paris. The girl sitting next to me after it was over said "that was awsome!" All I could say was "that was incredible".
I found Seth in a cafe drinking coffee and I suspected he had eaten something, but he wasn't sharing. So we went to the ABC Commessary for lunch. I don't think that MGM (or MK) has very good counter service so we weren't expecting anything special. And that's what we got. The asian noodles were good, just not great. Kind of greasy.
So we did more shopping but didn't ride anything more. We left MGM and went back to our hotel for a quick nap.
We got all dressed up for one of the highlights of our trip, dining at Victoria and Albert's. I in my heels and black dress and he in his new suit. We hadn't looked so good since our wedding. We waited for the bus at ASMo to go to the MK and everyone stared. We got to MK and got on the monorail to go to the Grand Floridian and everyone stared. We did meet another couple about our age who was going where we were so we sat with them. More staring. They were nervous too. The GF was beautiful. The tree was as tall as the inside. (about 4 stories?) and there was a life-sized gingerbread house. I wanted to go eat it, it smelled so good. I wonder if they have that problem? $3 for a little cookie, free HOUSE after hours......

V&A's was a great experience. We had never had it so good. Seth was in heaven. I thought the food much too rich, but most excellent. We had:
smoked buffalo, Maine lobster salad with melon and pomegranate syrup, crab and cardoon timbale with artichoke and champagne cream, roasted acorn squash cream soup, Dover sole and Nantucket scallop, cheeses, and for dessert Seth had a chocolate soufffle and I had a pyrmid of chocolate mousse with glazed strawberries. They also gave us a free dessert, as if we needed more food, because they said we had to wait too long for something. So we got a tropical fruit mousse in an orange scented chocolate "purse". Wow. It took 3 hours and we were stuffed. Why do we women have to torture ourselves with pantyhose? The whole experience was woth it. They let us keep our menus and they gave me a rose. The only problem was with some little kids. We could hear them and one was running around, and they sat a crying baby next to us. I know it was T-day but this is one of the most romantic restaurants in WDW. Why would you want to bring your kids? They wouldn't like the food or the length of the dinner. Oh well. As we left we met again the other couple we had rode over with, they ate at the chef's table. They said they had a good time and it sounded yummy too.
We wanted to observe the MK foreworks from the top of the COntemporary , but we thought it would be fun to go get our picture taken with Mickey. So we went into the MK. Even more staring if you can imagine. We went all the way to Toontown and saw the fireworks from there. Then we went to Mickey's house and waited in line with about 20 other kids. Can you see us? All dressed up with a rose and 20 tired kids and parents. Mickey really made a fuss with us, after all he was in his tux, and we have a really cute picture of that night. As we walked out the parade was going on. Main Street was busy but still passable. We could stop and watch when we wanted. Decided not to ride Space Mountain. I still think that was a very good idea. My feet were hurting and it was chilly so we waited for our bus. We got to see the start of the Electrical Water Parade. As we road the bus "home" Seth commented that he felt a bit like Cinderella coming home from the ball. I had to agree. We were all dressed up after a magical evening but riding a bus home with a bunch of tired kids and parents. And not getting as many stares!

Coming soon, day 4

Sonya, What a great day. Dinner at V&A sounds heavenly.

I think the picture of you, DH and Mickey was a great idea. I sure it will be something you will treasure.
