We got up early and opened up the Magic Kingdom. We went down to the Roaring Forks for breakfast. It wasn’t as good as the food court at All Star Movies, but the biscuits were bigger. They just don’t have as many choices and no Mickey waffles. After breakfast we walked down to the boat dock and made the 1st boat at 8:30. We got there just as it was opening! The boat ride was nice; we went past the Contemporary and over the water bridge. (the bus traffic goes under the bridge) We were able to get in to Main Street but no further as they had the ropes up. We went through the castle and waited to get into Fantasyland. As soon as they did we ran to Pooh. We got to ride it twice, the 2nd time we saw Pooh and Tigger riding too. Then we did Peter Pan, Small World, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates. Then it was time to go to the Main Street Bakery for some more yummy naughty goodness that is the French Toast Log. Mmmm, so buttery good.
We went back to the boat dock and naturally there was one waiting for us to take us back to the WL. Once there we jumped into our swimsuits and want for a dip. Inside the lobby there is a thermal feature that runs under a bridge and under the windows, down a little mountain stream, into a waterfall that flows into the pool. After the pool it “continues” to more thermal features and the geyser, then flows into the lake. There are 2 hot tubs next to the pool, but it’s already hot, so the pool was the thing. We even went down the water slide.
After a shower and some lunch, we went exploring. The hotel gives out a list of Hidden Mickey’s and we went to find each one and to take lots of pictures. We found the one in the fireplace. The fireplace, by the way, has the exact strata as the Grand Canyon, and even fossils of the era. We had to be shown the ones at Artist’s Point in the 3 paintings. The bartender showed us the 2 in the bar, and we were shown one that is ‘unofficial’ in one of the totem poles by a very nice castmember. Seth finally found the one on the pole in the hallway. And there was one in the grate of the fireplace. The hotel is very nice, probably the nicest we have ever stayed at.
Seth explored more and got in a nap while I did laundry. I met some interesting people and learned a few things, like there was a pile of laundry that had been there for a week. Someone forgot it! Back at the room we ironed and dressed, we were going to Artist Point for dinner. I had heard nothing but good things about this place. I was not disappointed. Seth got a buffalo steak and I got the cedar plank salmon. Wow! The buffalo was so nice I even liked it. The salmon came out on it’s cedar plank and they put it on your plate right in front of you. It was amazing. We had a nice view of the hotel and beach, and the rain. And boy did it pour; we were glad we weren’t at the parks! For dessert Seth had the berry cobbler and I had a flourless chocolate cake. I have many doubts about the cake; it was so light and fluffy it had to have flour in it. I didn’t like it all that much; it was dry and not rich. Seth’s cobbler looked delicious. The berries were as big as his thumb. There were blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries. He liked the ice cream and berries, but he could do without the cobbler. It wasn’t even warm.
After dinner we went back to the room and dressed for E Night, took the boat over to the MK, got our bracelets, and set out to enjoy ourselves. It had just rained and looked like it could more, but we were very very lucky. It stayed really humid but no more rain. The Spectromagic parade we getting ready to start, so we hopped on the train and went to Toontown to see Mickey. There had been quite a crowd on Main Street but Mickey had no line! We walked right in and right away Mickey noticed my earrings with the Mickey on them. Too cool. After our picture we walked around Minnie’s house and got some cotton candy. We decided we probably needed to get a spot for fireworks and we did, right in front of the castle. It was a great place to see Tinkerbells’ flight, and we did see her for the first time, but a horrible place for fireworks. They don’t get very high and so we moved over on the bridge to Fantasyland.
Everyone was supposed to leave after the fireworks; the MK was close to all but those who had the bracelet. But they didn’t leave! They ALL had the bracelet. I had heard that only 5,000 were sold and it seems 5,000 people is more than I thought! I had heard that the lines didn’t exist for an E Night but most everything as 20 minutes. Bummer. It was nice to see the place almost empty in areas. Only about 10 rides were open. We did a few and I did the 2 coasters, but finally we decided to go back to the hotel. We went through the shops and left; it was about 12:30 and it closed at 1am. We took the monorail to the TTC and caught a bus ‘home’. The lobby was deserted and it was nice to be up and about when most were asleep. Quieter!

Well, one more day left, day 8 is here:

I'm enjoying reading all of your food reviews in your trip reports. I'm starting to crave a french toast stick, even though I've never had one.:)

I really enjoyed the one enight I experienced last year, but there were no lines for the rides.

Thanks for posting this, I had fun reading.

I am so glad you liked Artist Point! It is one of our favorites!!!!!

I have never done an eE-night, but would love to if there was one scheduled during our next trip (there were none during our last 2 trips)!!!!

I really wish enight had been less crowded. I was not prepared for all the people.

I wish I could live closer to Artist Point. It was so good!
