i just called to make PSs for our trip in may. the CM happened to mention that extra magic hours are set (with a few exceptions, holidays, etc) as the following:
Fri- MK in am
Sat- AK in am
Sun- MGM in pm
Mon- Epcot in am
Tues- MGM in am, AK in pm
Wed- MK in pm
Thurs- Epcot in pm

do you think this CM was mistaken, or could this be the new schedule?

I don't know, but I'm sure interested as my trip is in May. I think I will use this information very conservatively.

Thanks for posting this - this is the same schedule that was in effect for our January trip. I, too, am making PS's for our May trip & have been using this schedule for our plans - knowing, of course, they may change. :)

Thanks for posting this! I know it can still change but at least it's SOMEthing to go on. You guys rock!

I, too, hope that this is good information. It's the schedule I had figured out from looking at the pattern. I feel a little more confident planning using it, now.

I, too, thought this was the case (but am a total newbie here, have never been to WDW yet, just planning :) )

That seems to be the "default" schedule, but Disney has made it clear that they will continue to alter the schedule to accommodate holidays and special events. May could be a real toss-up between the press events scheduled for the first week of the month and Memorial Day weekend later.

I have never done the extra evening hours before so I've got a question. If I were to do the extra hours @ MK and the reg. hours shows it closes @ 9:00, what time would I have to be there to get the wrist bands? Or would I be better off to go to MK the next morning as most would still be in bed and perhaps not even go to MK that day because they went the night before? Were going in April and I've got to make a plan. HELP!

That is the perfect term for the set hours! Yes the evening hours vary by any and all activities occuring in the different parks. We were there Jan. 15th for a week and the default hours for the evening were completely different. I'm expecting May to be a little crazy also.

The EMH hours are actually 8 times a week - 4 are in the morning and 4 are in the evening. Every day of the week there is either a morning or evening EMH, with one day having both a morning & evening EMH - under the current schedule, Tuesday is the double-EMH day (MGM in the am, AK in the pm.) HTH! :)

Ladydancer, you can get the bracelets no more than 2 hours before park closing. You can also get them after EMH evening starts, just be sure to have your resort card for each person. There are several locations where there are given out, the locations are listed on the EMH evening schedule
available at the entrance. We had the best luck getting them after entering MK at the Plaza Rose Garden and at the Caribbean Plaza (Pirates). There were at least 3 CMs there checking resort cards and putting the bracelets on.
The EMH evening schedule also lists which attractions are open. There is a separate EMH morning schedule that lists which attractions are open in the early mornings. Both schedules have which parks have this benefit for the current week.

FYI, more attractions are open during evening hours than the morning hour.
For example, the only rides open in the am at Epcot are Mission Space,
Spaceship Earth, Test Track and Universe of Energy. At MGM the only rides open are Muppets 3D, RNR, TOT, and Star Tours. At MK Buzz Lightyear, Carrousel, Tea Party, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Snow White, Space Mountain, Stictch, and Indy Speedway. Adventureland and Frontierland were closed until 9 am (I could not get in to get a fastpass). At AK Discovery Trails, It's tough to be a bug, the Safari and Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.

Good luck!

Our experience last week was that EMH morning at MK was busy. I also thought it was busy at EMH evening at MGM. I kind of like the idea of going the morning after a EMH evening at a particular park, but I like mornings better period. I find riding standby right after opening and grabbing fastpasses for later use works best for us.
