Sesame Place, Philadelphia

Thank you for everyone's comment! Now at least I know what to expect at SP, without your advice, I would be really disappointed when I get there :hyper:

We are going to WDW next month, but DW was also planning a short trip to Sesame Place in May/Jun, since my DD2 likes Elmo and Big Bird more than Mickey

After reading everyone's input, I may want to postpone my trip, or go somewhere else. I am living in Toronto, and flight + hotel to Philadelphia will cost almost 1K per person (our upcoming WDW trip cost $1.3K for 7 nights at POFQ). May consider saving the $$ for a Disney Cruise when my DD is 3. pixiedust:

Another caution on Sesame Place. I've taken my kids, and they do have fun, but it can be a rough crowd and it is always crowded (unless you go on a cold, rainy day). There are play pools that can get pretty hairy for keeping track of kids (especially if you have more than one with you).

Another vote for Dutch Wonderland if your near the Lancaster area and looking for something local. I'm getting season passes for this summer.

Amen to that. We took our oldest when she was 2. We went for 2 days and really did have great time but there were a lot of older kids (12-16). And they were rough, some were very rude and mean. The crowd was huge and that was the first (and so far thank God) only time we lost Madie.

I was sitting in the shade and my dh had Madie in the kiddie pool. I was watching and so was he and she just disappeared. We paniced and yelled for her and as I was running to tell a staff member that she was missing she came waddleing back with this huge inner tube from the lazy river. She wanted to use it in the kiddie pool. She was only missing 45-60 seconds but just thinking about the incident makes me cry.

Do not fly from Toronto to do Sesame Place. It it not worth it.

I loved SP years ago when it first open. It was less of a water park and more of a play place geared for young kids. It nice if you live near by and my kids had lots of fun when they were little but I'd save the money and do the cruise.
