Our flights will be arriving around 10am. I understand that check-in is not until 4pm at Bay Lake Tower, and that is if you are lucky enough that your room is ready. Is there a baby care center at the resorts where we could go with the baby and the two year old so they could take a nap? Or do people just hang around in the shade by the pool and hope that the little ones fall asleep in their stroller? We are staying at BLT so we have proximity to the room from MK specifically for nap time needs, but I need to plan for arrival day. Thanks so much!
:thanks:

Check in can happen after 7 am. Your room may not be ready until after 4 pm. You can check in, they will store your luggage, groceries... go use the pool, go to any of the parks. You can either call them or have them text you when you room is ready to occupy.

No baby care centers at the resorts. There is community hall at BLT with activities for kids but not for napping. You could go in a shady area in the courtyard or by the pool or try the 4th floor in the contemporary

There are some areas on the second floor of the Contemporary that tend to be big and open with lounge chairs. You might be able to find a back corner somewhere and get your kids to rest.

If the baby will nap in a stroller, I’d suggest you walk to MK and start your vacation! Lunch, go on a ride or two, and let the little one fall asleep while you’re walking around. Although there is a baby care center in MK, I will admit that after numerous trips with babies (kids are now 3 and 7), I’ve not set foot in a baby care center at WDW ...

If you’re hoping for a stroller nap, one really quiet and peaceful area outside is the BBQ and picnic gazebo to the left of the DVC pool. It’s my go to place to hang out if my 3yo has fallen asleep in the stroller.

At the Contemporary I think check in is on floor 2 and the gift shops are on floor 4. There may be seating areas on any of those floors. If your room is not ready, look around on those floors and you probably will find someplace to hang out.

Go to the convention center of the hotel, if no conventions are going on it is a very quiet area if you feel they won't sleep by the pool with noise from others.
All those comfy couches up there and its so so so quiet to relax! We have done that before when our boys were little and we needed a break from MK, they slept in strollers and we recharged in the AC sitting in those couches.

Thanks for the info on the BBQ area. Looking at the map, that seems to be a nice secluded place, as long as the weather cooperates. I am sure we can find a quiet area at the Contemporary as well if needed. It could be that the little ones sleep on the plane, and will be raring to go once we arrive! So that leads to the next dilemma for us... We will be arriving on a MVMCP day. I am not sure if we should get a four day pass and hit the parks at noon, or get a three day pass and do the Christmas party starting at 4pm. The cost is the about the same. Although we qualify for the discounted tickets at Shades of Green, so if we can purchase our tickets through them, it might not be that great of a difference, and we could do both. But, I guess that is a question for another thread!

Good luck! For indoors, I concur with the convention level floors at the Contemporary.

Also - I would do MVMCP rather than the 4 day pass, especially if you think you are going to be spending most of your time at MK. I may go book my MVMCP tickets now ...

If you don’t care about where your room is, add first available as a room request. We did that our very first trip to blt with an 11 month old and it was ready by 11am.

(I also make sure to tell both the front desk and call down to housekeeping when we leave our last morning at 7-8am so they can know our room is ready to be cleaned ASAP)

Yeah I was going to post this. Amazing place to nap a kid with lots of quiet nooks. If there isn't a convention happening that is, and sometimes even if there is if its a small one.

Well... He once slept through a 3 alarm fire at the other end of the street. I doubt a convention would keep him awake if he really wanted to nap 💤
But we've been reasonably lucky. Never really ran into a full-on convention there. Just the tail end of a few winding down.
