Service dogs on cruises

We have found a company in our area that helps you train your own service dog. This makes the cost much more affordable and the wait much shorter. What I'm wondering is if Disney allows these animals on the cruise ships.

Training my dog to get my phone would be a great blessing. One week ago I lost my balance on the stairs and became a bad commercial. I laid there at the bottom of the stairs for over 1/2 an hour until someone came home. Don't tell me about the medic alert buttons, I know. I'd rather have a trained dog that would make an attacker think twice when I'm out and about. An alert button wouldn't do that!

So anyway has anyone had any experience with this? I know they are allowed in the parks but not quite sure about the ship.

We have a trained srvice dog and origianlly told Disney he would be coming on the cruise. They needed the certification papers etc and their was a small fee (less than 15 if I remember correctly) to enter one of the foreign countries.

However we opted not to take him. We were concerned about him taking "breaks" etc. Our vet staff love him and he vacationed with them while we cruised. Several friends offered to dog sit but we felt their kids would spoil him -- feed him from the table, etc.

never thought about where the dog would read the paper on a ship before. wonder how they clean up after that.

it sounded like they would provide "straw type area" but our dog hates HH's pine needles. He was trained to use a grassy area and it finicky about that..........

on the days at sea that could be a problem!
