What is your understanding of each of these? If there is an 18% service charge... Is this the same as the tip (gratuity)? Or do I need to give an extra tip to the banquet hall manager?

service charge should be the same as gratuity. Also- if you feel the servers did an extra "above-and-beyond" job, and would like to tip them extra, tip them directly, not through the manager (hint from an ex-server!)
