Service at Mama Melrose's

We are planning a Fantasmic Dinner package - we've done this several times. Last time at Mama Melrose's we enjoyed the food, but had HORRIBLE service. It took forever to have our order taken, for the food to show up, etc. I think we must have been there 2 hours at lunchtime (you would think they'd want to flip the tables...)

I'm wondering if this is typical or if it's something that used to be a problem and has since improved. Was our experience just an anomaly? We'll go with Hollywood and Vine instead if it's a common problem.

When we did the Fantasmic Dinner Package ourselves a couple of years ago we found the food to be decent (wouldn't call it great though), but the service was not very good at all. It took a long time to get refills on beverages and overall service was fairly slow. Perhaps you and I are just an anomaly and everyone else has had great service.

Your experience is not typical for me. Every time we have dined at MM, from lunch to dinner, all different times, our service has been excellent. We have had shorty waits, and no waits. We never rush a meal, so our usual dining time is any where from 60 to 90 minutes, but that is on us. The only complaint I have had is that dessert trio with the package. I don't like it. It's "just okay".

Been to MM's 4 times and have had good food and good service. I'm sure they have a high turnover rate so maybe you just had a newer server or one that was having a bad day. Maybe they had another table that was giving them fits. We sat by a couple the other night and I felt like leaning over and telling the to go home and fix your own food, it would be easier and less painful for those of us close by.

I have always had great service at MM, food has been really good, and not so good. But the service was great.

We've had very good service there, and we've enjoyed the food. My only complaint is that we've had to wait anywhere from 20-45 minutes past our ADR time before being seated every time we've been there. We've taken to dining at HBD instead.

We have had long waits past our ADR on several occasions also. The service has ranged from very good to passable. I would not say we have ever had bad service. We have eaten there over a dozen times.

We've had good and bad service there. Last May our waiter was awful, took forever just to get drinks and then my boyfriend was ordering and was referring to something he ate there previously and was calling it the wrong name and the server actually got upset. When he corrected him his whole attitude changed after that and it was so awkward. We watched him with the table next to us and he took his time and smiled but then when he would come back to us he never smiled and was very quick. We asked for a minute to look at the dessert menu and he just seemed irritated.

We went back again this past December and our waiter was great, so friendly and fast. However we did notice two tables over was our waiter from before, we'll never forget him. We were so happy we didn't get him again, it was a totally different experience.

The last two years we had good service for lunch. Our first year was the best though.. The waitress was so enthusiastic & sweet.
