That probably explains why when I tried to log on earlier tongiht (my time) I got this weird page that said Congratulations you have successfully downloaded something or other...........had me worried at first, had to get my IT expert son to come have a look to see if he knew anything about it........ as it happens it would appear that it was the DIS servers.

Anyhow, thanks so much for all your long hard hours Alex......we take it for granted the DIS will always be there, but don't realise what goes on behind the scenes to keep it running.

Nutsy, I would look into that a bit further. The DIS did not download anything to your PC. JMO.

Nutsy, that was succesfully installed, not downloaded, what you were looking at was the install page of the server. I upgraded the web server. That was on the server not your computer

I know everyone has been seeing the "server busy" message often and it's very frustrating. We just keep getting busier and the servers run out of steam. At one point today we had about 2000 users on.
I'm looking for short term solutions but the real answer is another server upgrade and that takes a little time to arrange. I think we have outgrown anything I can do with 2 servers and we are going to have to move to a server farm of 3 servers so it needs quite a bit of research. I'll try to get it done as fast as I can!

Um, like huge thanks for posting this. Actually quite a few times in who knows HOW LONG I've thought I really need to do that sponsor thing and get it over with. I look around a bit and can't find it- and forget or get distracted before doing a search! Just did a search and the first thread I found about sponsoring here was your post quoted above! LOL Thanks for the linkypoo.

Ok thanks Alex.........I couldn't remember exactly what it said, but when we tried other websites and they worked and came back to the DIS and it still had this same page up , DS said it's the DIS servers. So, I wasn't too worried and when I checked back a couple of hours later, all was well.

Sorry, for getting the wording all mixed up..........I've got download on the brain right now..........seem to be forever saying it around here with DS's and all that they download

I posted a thread about 10 days ago and asked why people didn't sponsor the DIS and I actually got flamed on it to a big degree. Not that I really care about that 'cause there are not so smart people out there.

I posted the link and everything.

Sobeit - I was just checking and seeing why possibly some individuals didn't sponsor a good site like the DIS. There are quite a few individuals that I know are adults and DO HAVE the $$'s and they apparently don't care.

There are so many signatures on the DIS that have up to 15 and more lines and pictures that are over sized, but they are not conforming to the guidelines. I see them every day. They also don't care, I guess

Just my .02 cents - not upset with anyone at anytime. Just discussing like others
