After raising the prices on AP'S and TIW this weekend they actually felt it was the right time to send out an add on email. They try to make it like things are all warm and fuzzy in the DVC world. We all know they read the boards how was this a good idea?

I wouldn't think those are actually large issues for most, we've seen far hotter issues over the years such as removal of valet parking, rehab/relocation and reallocations. The way to get their attention is simply for enough people not to participate such that it affects their bottom line.

I guess they are taking the "ripping the band aid off" approach! Make it hurt all at once instead of a slow burn. :worried:

Are you referring to the pending $3 raise in Poly and Aulani prices? Isn't it a very small increase? Hardly worth it, yet they're going up in December.

I received the same email today. For those who haven't seen it yet:
Subject: Today's prices won't last much longer!

Don't miss out on today's prices - they won't be around long!

Now's a great time to add on to your Membership before the price-per Vacation Point for a real estate interest increases from $165 to $168 at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai'i, on December 3, 2015. Ready to learn more? Call 866-xxx-xxxx

Plus, act now to learn about even more ways to save on magical memories for years to come with our current offer.

Considering I bought in at around $65 that e-mail was in no way enticing to me. If I had wanted Aulani I would have bought it when first offered. As for now I'll book at Poly with my OKW points and whatever is left over from VGC since I don't get out there very often. After these latest ticket increases I'm seriously considering visiting Vero & Hilton Head for a while.

these message boards reflect a small percentage of actual DVC owners. and of that number, only a small percentage are unhappy of the ticket prices. a lot of members do not buy TIW and APs.

Yep - I laughed when I got that email too. Really???!!! Not many DVC discounts and perks that really are... discounts or perks anymore!

According to DVCNews, you can also save $10,000 on Poly points

......

If you buy a 2000 point contract , it's now only $320k instead of that incredibly outrageous $330k:eek:

Don't see it as a big deal for a few reasons:
- they are not going to stop marketing in fear of ruffling a few feathers.
- Wouldn't have surprised me if it came out the same day! Left hand probably doesn't know what right hand is doing.
- DVC purchase is different than AP or TIW and handled by different companies.

Yep...that's why the email WAS a good idea. The vast majority of DVC owners are not aware of the AP increases, and of those who are, only some will be affected. For everyone except that small group of DIS members, the email was a sales tool which, in some cases, will work.

You have to spend a little to save a little! My wife tells me that all the time!

Received the email, plus a postcard from my original guide stating how good it would be to add on right now!
