We have reserved 2 rooms for june 18 - 24th. We reserved these LAST June. 5 people per room. What happens if they do not open in time? Their web site is not promising about the March opening. (DH works construction). What if we get put somewhere that does not hold 5 people or that costs more than what we have budgeted? We are fundraising our fannies off, and it scares me that it may not be enough, or that we dont' know in time.

don't worry!!!

just because sog might not be opened in March, doesn't mean it won't open in June - if they are not opened I don't know what the back up plan is - if they still accept the Cont they might be disappointed - because WDW is now selling the north wing to regular guests - but as I say don't worth - WDW will find some place for you and your guests to stay - if you haven't heard anything by May (and SOG is not open-although I expect it to be) - then call the phone for SOG and ask them what is happening.

WDW won't expect you to pay more than your agreement with SOG and your reservations states the number of guest in your party and the number of rooms right?

if it does - again don't worry - everything will work out okay - if it doesn't contact SOG NOW and make sure that the number of guests and the number of rooms are listed somewhere so if it does get kick up to WDW they will know what you need.

There is another thread about this. My family is going to Disney from Feb. 29 to March 7 we had two rooms at SOG. They will not be open by then so we got a letter from them saying we could stay at the Contemporary for the same price only we have to pay the tax on the room. I would think they should be open by June. If you go to Shades of Green.org you can see the progress they have done by going to building for the furture. It also will tell when it opens. I have to say I am excited to stay at the Contemporary, I know we will go back and stay at the SOG so this is a nice change.

I second the previous posters comments. Your current SOG rate will be honored and if your confirmation lists 5 guests per room they will find accomodaions for you that will sleep 5 per room. All of the deluxe resorts except WL have rooms that sleep 5 so I am sure you will be fine. My cousin has reservations for her family of 5 in late March to early April...she was losing sleep worrying about what would happen to them if constuction wasn't complete...she finally called someone last week who assured her that ifSOG wasn't open they had "contingency plans" with Disney and all reservations would be honored.
You will have a wonderful trip...it may not be at SOG but any deluxe resort would be terrific.

ANY deluxe would do? Heck, as long as it isn't a park bench in the rain, I will be estatic to be there with my girls! Thanks for the encouragement...I will be calling tomorrow to double check that it has us down for 5 people per room. Yes ,we ahve been checking the web site. DH is a commercial electrical worker and explains each photo about what they are doing and what comes next. He's not looking too hopeful, either. But what does he care? GIRLS ONLY on this trip, baby. Leaving him behind anyway.

Watch out! It may not be a Deluxe! We had ressies for 9 rooms December and when they didn't open then, SOG could only put some at Contemporary (had 288 rooms there) and the rest had to go to Port Orleans.

We protested (wanted interior corridors) and were offered overflow rates at any Deluxe, but they could not offer SOG rates anywhere besides where they gave us. Ended up getting AKL for $124 and change plus tax. Ended up taking 3 rooms at that rate, but cancelled the other 6 since we got better FL resident/Annual Passholder rate of $109 plus tax through CRO.

Just because SOG is Deluxe does not mean they have to put you up in Deluxe! Hopefully you will, but they make no promises, and if you insist on Deluxe, you have to pay overflow rather than SOG rates.
