Having carefully made all my plans and very smugly getting all my ADRs Disney then go and change MK EMH from July to December.

I now have a dinner ADR for Ohana and they've cancelled the MK evening EMH and a dinner ADR the next evening at The Flying Fish when they've added MK evening EMH.

Naturally there is nothing available for me to swap things around. I am really angry :furious::furious: I can see absolutely no point in changing the dates of EMH from one night to another. I know they have the right to make changes but seriously they've got their guests making ADRs 180 days out, FP+ 60 days out but they change something as fundamental as park hours at the drop of a hat.

Okay rant over .....

I know! I don't see the point in it either.
Fortunately it hasn't affected me this time, but a month or so ago they added a morning EMH to MK on the day I had booked CRT for breakfast so we could get some nice photos in front of the castle without all of the crowds.

I hope you're able to get sorted and maybe find ADRs x

I agree I' am annoyed also. But they always do that. A month after they release the hours they change them.

In the past I was able to switch things around this year the dinning reservation are hard. Even 180 days out.

We had to change ADRs too. I don't get why they would change it so late!

I hear you. We had our plans around them too. Now all the recommended parks everyday have changed, we had everything very planned out, got all of our ADRs including ohana and BOG, so no changing now. There is not 1 dinner still available to switch out of our 10 because we have all of the high demand places. Starting to think its a ploy to get everyone to buy hoppers since you never know what will change.....oh well, we are going with our original plans and hoping for the best. Our plan is to avoid EMH to avoid crowds that day, and now BOTH of our MK days are EMH:faint:

Same hear! We have had to jiggle things, luckily no great dent in our plans. Managed to rearrange our Artists Point dining reservation and juggle our Wave restaurant booking. It somewhat defeats the purpose of allowing us to plan so far ahead if the park hours can be arbitrarily changed at short notice for whole periods of the season. I,m sure Disney have their reasons. :goodvibes

Ditto Animal Kingdom has been changed to a Sunday I had booked Tusker House for our first day at 8.00. So pleased to have earliest time to beat the crowds to Safari at 9. Now it has EMH so I've changed TH to 8.40 - not ideal, but too late to swap everything around particularly as FP+'s all booked. Very frustrating!!

We booked a night at the contemporary specifically for mk pm emh.
Then they've gone and changed the hours for us also!

Rang wdw and we could change to the sat night-but would cost £s more :confused3

Yep Friday and Saturdays are weekend nights and in some season they cost more hence your price increase.

On the schedule change I think its wrong to start messing with something so fundamental as EMH days this close in. It doesn't bother us as we don't really plan around them anymore but I can understand the annoyance.

I have no problem with them extending the park hours close in as they frequently do but I don't think they should have switched the EMH days.

I quite agree!

It's our last night before flying home-so, sensible dh thinks we should not be out too late anyway.
I however, feel we should make the most of every second available.:dance3:

We always try and make our dinner ADRs for the park with evening EMH as it means after dinner we are ready to play the night away. We don't go often enough to not plan around them unfortunately and right now I am really, really annoyed about this.

This is the 1st trip for my sister, her partner, my nephew and our mum and they are totally depending on me for all the planning and telling them what to do and I have to say this has been the most difficult trip to plan almost nothing has been straightforward and I haven't even started with any FP+ bookings yet !!

What an absolute pain.:sad2:

Can I ask where you've seen the park times/recommended parks?

I've got them from the "other" forum but have just had a quick check and my dates in August don't look to have changed? I'm wondering now if that's out of date??

This was the one thing that worried me when I heard they'd changed them (we have a CP breakfast ADR). Luckily the day we have booked isn't an EMH day. But it did mess up our AK day. We'd purposely planned to go to AK on the Monday as it was am EMH. Then I saw they'd swapped it to the Sunday, so I had to switch my Epcot and AK days, which meant cancelling and rebooking all the FP+. Luckily we got all the ones we wanted, and there was only a few minutes difference in times, which was very fortunate, at less than 30 days out!!

Due to reading this post, I checked the hours for our stay in October, not too much has changed but it will impact on the day we have booked Be Our Guest.

I have booked the restaurant for 9.20pm, this was great when the extra magical hours meant the Magic Kingdom was open until midnight, now it closes at 10pm.

With the park shutting at 10pm and our reservation at 9.20pm, are we going to be rushed through and expected to finish our meal by 10pm closing?

Haven't ever had a late reservation so close to park closing, so have no idea what to expect!

they will let you finish your meal

they don't shoo everyone out of the park at closing time. The policy is that, as long as you're in line for an attraction you will ride, no matter how much wait there is. Same if you're in a restaurant.
If MK closes at 10pm that's when they will ask guests who are not in a line/restaurant to exit the park. If you're in a line or a restaurant, they'll let you finish.

Once you're done with your meal, you will be required to exit the park promptly.
you might feel a bit rushed though, be it only by the fact that the restaurant might be almost empty, but don't worry.

We have had Yak and Yeti reservations 30 mins before closing time.

We weren't rushed but with 4 kids its impossible to rush us to do anything.

We had no issues other than with the buses, as they had actually stopped running to "every" resort by the time we got out and they had to arrange a bus for us to get back to OKW.

:thumbsup2
