OK, please don't think I am completely ignorant, but I was wondering if any experienced folks could help me out. I am completely confused and baffled by all the discussions on discounts, upgrades, etc. If anyone would be kind enough to help me out, I would so much appreciate it as I have changed my reservations so many times I am fearful they will start screening their calls and not pick up the phone anymore for me! Anyway, here is where I am with things. I now have reservations at the Portifino in a Kid's Suite for 6 nights during the first week in June. 6 nights @ $447 AAA rate w/tax = over $3000 (OUCH!). Anyway, I believe this is by far the best bet for my family as my 13 year old is taking a friend and I was thinking the suite would be perfect. There were no suites available at RPR (our first choice). Looked as though the Kid's Suite at Portifino was a bit cheaper than at Hard Rock (we really don't care which resort...just want to stay on-site). Anyway, we are getting the $85.00 park pass (already ordered). I went ahead and applied for a LOEWS First Card. I got number, but no card and so far have no idea what exactly that will do for me. What kind of upgrades are there with a card and is there a cost to the upgrade or do they just grant it to you at the price when you reserved the room (I know, dumb question...but I really don't know the answer). So, is there a cheaper way to go for my Kid's Suite or do I just need to save my hard earned cash from here on out until our trip. We really are excited to go, but really could use some expert assistance. What is a APH? Would that be better for me than AAA? Sorry so long and sorry for so much confusion. It just seems when read all these posts everyone is getting such great deals and I am not seeing it! THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME !!!!

You do have a very good rate, I just checked and the APH (Annual Pass Holder) rate for June 2-9 for a Kid's Suite at PBH is 503/night and the Super Savings rate is 475/night. As you have just joined Loew's First, and have booked a Kid's Suite, I wouldn't expect any upgrades at check-in. Do not cancel the suite hoping for an upgrade though as it just won't happen for a new member other than moving from garden view to pool, etc. Be sure to apply your LF number to your reservation as there are still some perks that begin with your first stay. When you go to the parks, be sure to take your AAA card as most restaurants/gift shops offer a AAA discount.

would you consider in buying the ap for universal and get 2 rooms, connecting of course?

at rph for the first week in june you can get a weekday room with the ap for $129 night and weekends $149 per night.

could be cheaper for you if you don't mind the older kids being in the room next door.
you could always keep the connecting door open between the rooms
the plus would be 2 bathrooms.

it's just a thought.
