Hello - I'm a first-time cruiser, but one of the Platnium Cruisers that is on my cruise booked a Serenity Bay cabana and then released it today - so my group snagged it! We are a group of 8 adults and so excited to have a "home base" on our Castaway Cay day!

Is there snorkel equipment included in the Serenity Bay cabanas, or only in the Family beach ones? I know we have floats and bike rental.

To my knowledge only the Family Beach. Which makes sense as the snorkel trail is in that area.

We’ve had a cabana on Serenity Bay four times (most recently earlier this year), and have been able to get free snorkeling equipment by showing our wristbands each time. Enjoy!

Haven't posted this in a while. Here for your enjoyment is a list of Serenity Bay cabana amenities

Bowl of potato chips, energy bars, fresh fruit
Stocked fridge with cold drinks and water
Electric wall plugs (for example, plug in to recharge your electronics)
Suntan lotion
Private hammock
Personal float tubes
Snorkeling equipment rental
Bike rental included
Nearby shower (right outside)
Magazines
Facial tissue
Trashcan
Hanging closet
Cocktail table, sofa, two chairs inside
Call button for attendant
Overhead fan
Privacy curtains over windows
Plates
Private beach in family cabanas
There is a safe in them, just as in your onboard cabin.
You can eat lunch there (table and chairs). Your host might give you a ride to/from the buffet.
There is a changing curtain for get into/out of swimwear
A drink host will come and take your order for alcoholic drinks and bring them to you.
They provide a plate of cold, wet towels. Great for cleaning/cooling off.
Lot of chairs inside and out (on the porch) for relaxing
Once at the end of the day, our host took us from our cabana to the ship's reboarding point in his golfcart. Wow!

Just pick up your equipment before you head out to Serenity Bay if you plan on snorkleing out there. It is not tavailable for pick up out at Serenity, only by the family beaches. You can, however, get your bikes and floats from the kiosk right outside the entrance. Found this out the hard way...

Thanks! Is snorkel gear rental included with the cost of the cabana?

I think I'm more likely to snorkel at the Family Beach - I want to see those underwater Mickeys and such!

Ahhh loved our Serenity Bay Cabana!

I think it's not included but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm sure it's cool... However, there is so much wildlife to see at Serenity Bay that I would encourage you to not miss snorkeling at SB and/or try both.

It’s not listed as one of the amenities for the Serenity Bay cabanas, but we’ve never had trouble getting it for free by showing our cabana wristband. And you can use it in both Serenity Bay and the snorkeling lagoon (where there’s a lot more to see) as long as you’re wearing a life vest (which they also provide).

I have only had a family beach cabana, so I can't say for sure about the Serenity Bay cabanas offering free equipment. My plan was to snorkel at Serenity this trip. I stopped at the family beach to pick up my equipment and the CM I asked told me I didn't need to lug it all the way from the family beach with me; that I could pick it up out there. Well, when I got there, that turned out to be not true. I was a bit annoyed. Too much time to ride back, pick up the equipment, ride back again. So I ended up ditching the idea of snorkeling at Serenity and went after lunch to the family beach to snorkel and stay there. Just to be aware-the underwater stuff, the good stuff is out there, I use the fins provided etc. It is worth the swim!

Just be aware that the SB cabana price is for 4 guests. Above that will cost $50 per person.

I personally have used snorkel gear while staying in a SB cabana.

Also be aware that when the tide is out at Serenity, the tide is OUT and you’ll be lucky to find water to mid-thigh even out towards the rope. Not a lot of snorkeling to be done then.

You can snorkel in any amount of water, but I can walk out to the "Swim area buoys" on Serenity Bay. There's a reason there aren't rentals on the adult beach. (note we did see a wild sting ray swimming around and no mask needed)
In fact the only deep water on Castaway Cay is in the snorkel area on the family beach. I've gone swimming there even without snorkel gear just to get to deeper water. (you do have to wear the vest to enter the water there)
Off but similar topic, but you can pick up bike rentals at adult beach, bike around and drop them off at the main bike rental area.

OMG, I would love to do this now... thanks for the very informative review of renting a cabana with the amenities, really appreciate it!

Weird question, but do the cabanas have a restroom, or do you have to go back to some mid-point in order to use one? We have a tiny bladder in our group... lol. Thanks!
