Serena Williams loses!

With all of the pressure and attention put on her to win the calendar grand slam...only to then lose to an unseeded player is something no one here will ever know. Put yourself in her shoes and imagine what your mood would be for an interview just a few minutes after walking off the court. Wold you really want to answer, "How disappointed are you?" being asked in 20 different ways?? My guess is no. If I were in here shoes, I probably would have told everyone to leave me the hell alone and walk out.

i don't think that is such a surprise. Each of the finalists was a huge long shot to get that far. Neither one had any pressure and they were just thrilled to be there...BIG difference than what Serena has had to deal with over the past several months.

If this were the first time Serena had acted like this, I would give her a pass. But this is predictable behavior for her. In my OP, which happened just after she lost but before her post-game interview, I even predicted she would be a sore loseres crybaby and she didn't disappoint.

Totally agree. Those were some classy ladies playing in the final today. For some reason the media gives Serena a pass when she acts like a jerk in her interviews. Really wish someone would call her out for it.

I don't think she is jerk, if you watched the us open other than the serena matches, you would notice many of them act like that especially during the game. Tennis isn't full of classy folks, or any sport for that matter. There are plenty of other athletes who would qualify as jerks who the media gives a pass. I never understand the need to be classy during a game or right after when you have so many emotions running through. On another note come next year I highly doubt we will hear any of these ladies, but I hope Serena is in ready come January because next year I believe she could get the most slams ever...needs 3 to tie and 4 to be the top.
