I was looking at the Seralago web site. They have some great rates. We are a family of 5 with older kids so we would need the 2 room suite or two rooms. However would these compare to the Values at WDW?? We stayed one night at the ASMU family suite and didn't like it at all or the resort.

At Buena Vista we could get by with their suite. I wish Seralago had queen beds. Anyone tried Seralago?????????

Buena Vista Suites includes a full breakfast buffet and has 2 queen size beds in their 2-room suites.

From a room and value standpoint, it blows the values at Disney away.

What you don't get is Disney perks like Magical Express, free parking at the parks and Extra Magic Hours.

Do you mean BV Suites or Seralago blows the values out of the water?? BV Suites looks nice to me online. The Seralogo looks a bit more upscale from the values. Well at least from the pictures I looked at.

We just got back from staying at the Seralago..while the rates are great, the hotel is lacking..it looks nothing like the pics..very rundown..my rooms carpet was musty and damp. If your just looking for a place to lay your head, its ok. But don't expect much. The breakfast buffet was horrible and expensive. I was disappointed. Read some great reviews, but the was let down. Let me know if you have any questions!

I was worried it looked better online than it actually is. Thanks for the heads up. Very inexpensive but reminds me of the values. Not my cup of tea. :goodvibes

Just wondering if you asked to have your room changed.
I am following Seralago on Facebook as we have a ressie there next week and there are so many people who are thrilled with it and keep posting that they can't wait to go back. The pictures the guests are posting on there are current as well, and look quite nice actually.
I'm sorry to hear your stay wasn't what you hoped for, but I would have definitely asked for a different room in that scenario.

I will post a review with pictures on this board when we return for anyone who might be interested. :goodvibes

I didn't ask for the room to be changed, we got in at 11pm that evening and I was traveling by myself with my children ages 13, 12, 9 and 1. We were there for the parks and not the hotel..and I wasn't going to waste the time and effort hauling everything back out. I was talking to my oldest last night about the hotel and what he thought and his reply was "Mom, I knew it wasn't what they advertised, when I saw the cockroach going across the lobby floor." The pictures and the video are old. The beds were old. The floor was damp and musty. . The pools were fine. It was really close to restaurants..you could walk.
For the money it was not bad..I do not think its nicer then the values.

We stayed there on a recent trip to Orlando for house hunting, not vacation. I chose it so my kids could have their own room. For the price it was ok, but its not a vacation destination. But it was half the price of Disney's value resorts at the time (of course I had to at least check). I did peek into some of the family suites, and although they wouldn't really have worked for us (I have older kids) they did look like a fun option for a family with younger kids. There was a Dunkin Donuts across the road, which my kids and DH absolutely loved.

As far as functionality, we did have a toilet that ran weird and lights without bulbs, but when we called someone came and fixed them right away.

Our hotel of choice is to get 2 rooms at Pop Century. We have stayed there 4x and love it. We have always been able to get connecting rooms. My kids last time we went were 19, 17, 13 and 5.

Seralago is definitely at least a step down from the values.

Yeah I think we would choose Pop for a value if we stayed in a value again. We went over there to check it out on one of our trips. It looks much better to us than ASM.

Just stayed at Seralago for 2 nights.
It is definately NOT Disney! LOL

It was okay, but needs some work!

Just got back from a week at Seralago. Overall, we enjoyed it very much and would definitely stay again!

Pros:

~Price we got was awesome :thumbsup2
~Pool was sparkling clean and very comfortable temperature (we only used the front pool, so I can't vouch for the one toward the back of the resort)
~Our room was very clean and we had plenty of space for all of our stuff (that is saying something considering we were a group of all females in my room, LOL)
~The staff was very friendly and if we needed anything they were on top of it quickly
~The general store in the lobby is pretty well stocked (which came in handy when DD15 had a reaction to a mosquito bite and I needed some Benadryl at 10:00 p.m.)
~There were Disney touches all over the place (since they are a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel, they use Disney's logos on hotel items, so everything from our Seralago parking pass to our resort info brochures had Disney on it). There were also some Disney cutouts in the lobby which the kids liked getting pics with and they have the Disney Parks info channel with Stacy.
~There was noticeable security throughout the resort which was nice (they were riding around on golf carts checking things out pretty much every time we were outside)
~It was a short, easy drive to the Disney Maingate and I was actually getting a kick out of getting to go through the gate so many times, LOL
~Didn't see a single bug, mouse or rat (tiny lizards, yes of course)

Cons:

~The water pressure definitely needs some adjusting...you can tell when the people behind you are in the shower at the same time you are. Not a huge deal and I know a lot of people have switched to the "low-flow" showerheads anyway, but annoying to me because I have thick hair and need the water pressure to rinse properly. Luckily that only happened to me 2 times all week.
~The outside could use some sprucing up. It doesn't look too bad when you first pull up but once you round the corner past the lobby building, you can tell that the buildings are quite dated. Having said that, everything in our room was modern and up to date ~ it just doesn't make for nice pics right outside the rooms. Not a big deal to us.
~We got annoyed with the shuttle service that Seralago uses. They use Maingate shuttles and in the morning they were pretty much on time to take us to MK and the driver was very nice. However, we were told to be back to our spot by 11:15 p.m. for the last pick up and we got there at 11:14 and the shuttle had already left. It was the last one for the night and we had to take a taxi back ~ not convenient and we put in a complaint about that. Again, annoying, but not a dealbreaker for me ~ we would make to sure to be in the spot at least 10-15 minutes earlier next time to be safe.

As I said, overall we truly enjoyed our stay at Seralago. I plan on staying there for my future WDW trips as well. It saved me so much money and we don't feel like we missed out on the Disney experience at all. Actually, we all agreed that this was our most relaxing trip so far. I'm sure I'll be planning the next one soon! :goodvibes

From Seralago, It was literally only 5-10 minutes depending on which park. I was very close to the parks.

From Buena Vista:

Blizzard Beach 1 miles, , Hollywood Studios Studios 1 miles, Epcot – Walt Disney World 1.5 miles, Downtown Disney 2 miles.

Time of day would determine drive times, But everything is so close that it shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
