Now my DH want me to look into the idea of using some of my DVC points for our stay at DLP. It can be done and I do have some points available for us.

Which do you like better Sequoia or New Port Bay and why?

Right now we are booked at budget Ibis and I like that as it is rated better than either Disney hotel but DH wants to know.

SL looks nicer to me than NPC.

It's just been refurbished so should be the freshest, it's more cozy looking and smaller.

The NPC is huge with really long, long corridors and has a convention center attached like HNY so can seem very full and busy.

Maybe when the NPC has had it's refurbishment I'll change my mind :goodvibes

But even if we didn't live down the road we would stay off site as the hotels at DLP are so over priced and you have great choices not far away that offer better quality on so many aspects

With the DVC points I just have to pay one fee and use my points to pay for the stay. Yes the points are worth a lot but I would only bank them anyways for use next year.

I don't think we would spend very much time in our room anyways. How bad is budget Ibis really going to be?

Budget Ibis is what used to be the Etap range ?

We've stayed in them on occasion but prefer the Campanile chain or the standard Ibis due to room size and layout.

They are clean and fit for purpose. They offer good value for money and that's what's important especially at a place like DLP where everything costs so much

The only thing I can think off is that if it is wet, cold and miserable out it wouldn't be great just sitting in the room due to size andlack of things to do in the hotel but you could always go and sit in the bar at SL (for example ;)) or go and visit the shopping center at Val d'Europe

The Ibis budget can't be compared in any way to either the Sequoia Lodge or the Newport Bay Club.

Having said that, I've stayed at the Ibis budget (when it was the Etap) at val d'europe, as Carrie says it was clean, warm, with polite staff, and convenient for DLP (outside, through the courtyard, down the steps of the train station, and you're at your platform for the trains to DLP).

We were there on a very cold end of November trip, and it was fine. If you're going to DLP when the parks are closing at 8pm or thereabouts, if you're like us you won't be spending any time in your hotel room except to sleep, shower and change. And the Ibis budget is absolutely fine for that.

I'd recommend looking at the residhome at Val D'europe - its only 5 mins from Disney (and I think they do a shuttle?) - we stayed at the one in Roissy and were very impressed by how clean and comfortable it was. Added to which, it has a proper small kitchen so you can sort yourself out breakfast and snacks etc. (and a nice cup of tea at the end of a long day!!) - there is a huge Auchan in Val D'Europe where you can get everything you need:thumbsup2
