We are planning on going in March and we were planing to use the room literally just for a base. Some where to sleep and some where to leave our stuff. But we would really like to have a pool, after having so much fun at the Davy Crockett pool this year. I have been told though that the pool at Sequoia Lodge is freezing that all he kids were in the hot tub as the pool was too cold to go in.

What is every ones experience of the pool?

We have used the pool in October and Feb, both times it was cold, but not unbearable. You just need to stay away from the doors that open up to outside, it was freezing in that part of the pool!

Went in the pool last September & this August. It was chilly to begin with but you adjust quite quickly. The jacuzzi was shut the last time we went but I think the worst you can do is the jacuzzi then the pool as it will be even colder.

I know we would adjust just a bit hesitant of taking Elsie in cold water!

How is the pool temp at HNY in comparison?

I would say its similar, the only difference being that the HNY pool is part of the hotel building where as the SL one is in a separate lodge. Making it seem that the HNY is warmer

i do remember it being very cold (but that was a long time ago!) been in the New York more recently and that was freezing and there was no shallow end which caused a bit of a problem because neither my DD or my mum were very confident swimmers and it was a bit difficult to keep them both afloat!!

It's worth noting that there is no shallow part to the pool at SL either!

Thank you thats the only reason we were considering Sequoia Lodge was for a pool day.

New port bay is that the same? Just dont think we could stretch as far to New York

I don't think any have a shallow end, they are the same depth throughout the pool.

Oh really?! Such a shame Davy Crockett had the little paddling pool and a shallow end by the hot tubs and waterfall

The SL has a tiny paddling pool ( or it might be a recessed are to make sure you feet are clean) by the shower that is by the main pool
