Hi, I'll be in DLRP during Halloween Time this year and I can't wait 'cause it's my first time during Halloween.

I booked a Montana room in Sequoia Lodge, what about this hotel? It's my first time in this hotel too.
I also booked a half board pack, is the hotel's resturant good?
Where can I go to eat?

ill be staying here in october too, it is my first time in this hotel as well and I can't wait!!!

from what i have heard the hotel's restaurant is very good, but remember (i think) you can eat at some of the other restaurants in other hotels as well.

yes, its a really nice hotel lovely and cosy feel to it with all the wood etc.. the pool is great too if you get time to go in!

the 2 restaurants are good the better one we thought was the proper sit down one not the buffet sorry carn't remember the name of it its the one on the left anyway their food was lovely and really nice staff , the buffet was a bit cold when we ate there and not much we liked

We ate at the Beaver Creek Tavern at SL in March and I was really impressed with the food.
26 euros/head for adults, I had the Sirloin Steak as a main dish, DS 13 had the spare ribs and was amazed to see it was a whole rack of ribs served with a variety of sauces, he said they were great. DS 8 had the fish steak off the kid's menu for 12 euros. There was a huge buffet choice of starters including L'escargots. I was disappointed by the time it came to desserts by the fact that I was full and could only fit 2 of the large selection in, I had a strawberry mousse tart which was delicious and a piece of almond cream spongecake - equally nice, Jamie had the mallows with a custard type sauce. The bill came to 82 euros which was very reasonable for the amount of food available and included 3 cocktails, non alcoholic for the boys and a blow your socks off one for me.

I stayed there once last year and I really liked it.
It's very cosy, clean, well organised (apart from the pool, which in my opinion isn't really worth it as it's sooooo tiny).

Those scans are great! I'm staying there from Dec 9th- 13th. We have a standard room but i've just thought as they are in the seperate lodges rather than the hotel itself, do you get a full lodge to youself or is it split up into rooms? I'd like to see about upgrading to a Montana room when we get there, its just when we booked it through the travel agents there wasnt an option for a Montana room.

On the photo you can see numbers under the lodges, they are the room numbers within that lodge.

We stayed at Yellowstone too, in number 103.

I have no clue about upgrading to a Montana room as we didn't do that. What you could do is ring DLP (or the hotel, the number should be on one of the scans) and just explain the situation to them and ask if it's possible to upgrade upon arrival even though you didn't book through them. It might even be possible to upgrade over the phone already. Best to just ask them, especially as there's probably a limited amount of Montana rooms available to start with.

Each lodge is divided in several rooms, just like the blocks on Santa Fe and Hotel Cheyenne. Don't ask me how many rooms there were in a block though, I can't remember
Maybe it's on the scans, but I can't say for certain, I've not looked at them for a while, I just fished them up for you as I thought they'd be helpful

Thanks for that, i didnt notice the room numbers for the lodges,lol. I'll try and ring up this week to see about getting an upgrade. Its just that i think it would be easier to stay in the hotel iteself for my mam and grandma.

We are booked in this hotel for next Easter. The lodges look very small on the scanned diagram, and I avoided the Cheyenne as DD did not like being in separate houses, though she was fine with the Kyriad.

Can anyone explain just how big the 'lodges' at Sequoia are compared to the Cheyenne please?

We were ground floor, but I believe they're 2 storey and going by the room numbers they each have 84 rooms, presumably 42 down and 42 up. I don't know how big the Cheyenne blocks are, I always assumed they varied as the buildings look different sizes but I suppose that's just the exterior facade.

I had seen that video before, via the link in the Disney Hotel FAQ thread, and the hotel looks big. However, I think the video concentrates on the main building. I wonder how many rooms there are in the Cheyenne buildings (might give me an idea of size)?

I suppose one option would be to upgrade to Montana, however we have splashed out enough already, and I had planned to ask nicely at check in anyway

The Montana rooms are the ones in the main building.

I have also just booked a standard room at SL and although I'm not bothered if I'm in one of the outhouses, if they ofer to upgrade me to a montana room I won't say no, as it is nice being able to stroll down to the bar and shop etc. without having to put your coat on, other than that for the most part we will get ready and have breakfast on the way to the parks so it won't really matter all that much.

Is it worth asking if they have any rooms in the main buidling on check in, or just wait and hope.

Just found the Scans for the SL on this thread. Brilliant. Thank you thank you. We are going in February and this extra info will keep DH happy.

We will have booked to be in a Montana room as we are a family of 5. Is it true if you get a good one (without a view of trees!) you can watch the fireworks from your window? DS2 will only have turned 2 and he is a bit scared of the noise. We went to Illuminations in Epcot and he was really upset. I don't want the others to miss out (or me either!) by having to leave to park when it is on.
