It's been years since I have stayed at sequoia lodge what is breakfast like?
Is it as bad as Santa fe where you have to hunt for a table and it's just crazy in there?

Was wondering if we should just skip breakfast and head to salon mickey for a drink and something to eat instead?

It's been a handful of years since I was at that hotel too, but from memory of then, the breakfast was fine. You were usually directed to a table, and there wasnt a scrum mentality. Im back in February at SL if you can wait that long for an update from me - although Im sure someone will be along soon who has stayed there recently.

Your suggestion works though. Perhaps if you dont like your experience of breakfast on day 1, then skip it the other days. You're not missing out anyway... still getting free food and drink to start you off, by heading to Salon Mickey. Ahh the perks... :)

you'll be fine, they direct you to a table. Mind you we did have quite a long queue on our first morning while they were waiting for free tables!! Our other mornings were fine because we got down there rather sharpish after that!:)

Thanks for the quick response guys! I can only remember having breakfast at Santa Fe or Newport Bay (and Davy Crockett but a different experience) and it was crazy! I guess if we go down ready to go to the parks and if it is busy we can just head straight to the park!

Are there a good amount of high chairs there?

Is there an optional extra to pay for cooked breakfast?

Salon Mickey just seems a good idea if we plan to head to EMH and then go back to Salon Mickey for breakfast then back in to the park!

Just back from the SL on Monday (21st Nov) morning both restaurants were open for breakfast so there was no queue. We were directed to a table.

On Wednesday one was closed for a private function so we did have to queue but not because it was full just for a CM to take us to our table.

High chairs seemed to be plentiful but they are not really something I can speak with much authority on.

We have stayed there a couple of times, and we have never had to wait for a table, though we normally opt for a 7 o'clock slot (our children are early risers!!).

As said, you are seated at a table, so you don't have to hunt for one, and there are lots of high chairs, which is brought to your table as you are shown to it.

I have always found breakfast in here quite pleasant, with lots of choice, and our children appreciate the yogurts which are in plentiful supply!

Although I do love salon Mickey, I don't think I would rely on it for breakfast, as one time we went they were so busy there was nothing left!

Wow really I have only been in there once (mum and dad have been 3 times though) and we were alone

What are the chances of getting fantasyland breakfast? (if they still do it)

We were offered fantasyland breakfast for one morning on our last trip (when we checked in). I was going to ask for it, but I was offered it before I had a chance! If you don't get it offered to you, you can always ask.

It pays to ask at your hotel reception every day too, about breakfast in the park. When we last stayed onsite, we asked every evening just before going heading to our room after we'd been for dinner after the parks closed, and got breakfast in the park the following morning every time :).

Wow thanks for the tip I will try to do this if I remember and not to tired :D

We just returned today from the SL. We loved it, but we have nothing else to compare it to except the Kyriad where we stayed for 1 night.

The breakfast was nice the first day (Thursday) we ate at 7:30 and it was pretty quiet. We were seated without waiting. Friday morning we ate at 9:30 and it was a little busier but not bad, had to wait just a few minutes for a table.

I asked about doing breakfast in the park but it wasn't available during our stay. We did Cafe Mickey the last morning at 9:30, I wasn't impressed for the price. Especially since we had to chase down the Characters. We went to Cafe Mickey Friday at 6:00 P.M. for supper and had 5-6 Characters come right to the table, so I was expecting the same for the breakfast. Maybe it would have been better if we had gone earlier.

even in June when we went as long as you arrive at the alloted time there was no queue - I love the SL ..

we did breakfast in the park and it was MUCH busier than the hotel to the point where people were pushing and shoving for a seat .. nice experience but it ate into our EMH (we always go for the crack of dawn breakfast)

Breakfast is great there Tinks... Lots of cereal for the young ones, fresh croissants etc, cheeses, bread rolls. I have always stayed at the sequoia and never had one reason to complain. if you want my advice though, do get there early as a queue can form.

You can actually get a hot breakfast but at a charge.

We were at the Sequoia Lodge from October 16 to 19. Occasionally there was a short line to get into the dinning room, but we were always shown our table. The buffet was very extensive and I'd think that anyone would find something to their liking. I think there was hot cereal (don't know what you call that in the UK), but I wasn't aware of a cooked breakfast option. We were very happy with what was available.

Thanks every one I'm just not keen on having to choose a time like all parents know we get up when they get up. So we could be lucky and still be asleep at 7 (imagine that (:) or be up and dressed at 7! That is why I was considering just going to salon Mickey because I will just feed DD in our room then head out and when or if me and DH get hungry we will head to Salon Mickey for something to eat and a hot drink!

wow that link hasnt been updated since 2003 I wonder how much it costs now!?

I'm not sure if they still offer a hot option in the SL, as they used to have a card on the tables with prices & options & this hasn't been there the last 2 times I have stayed.

Well you maybe right there tennisfan, as tinks pointed out the date on the link i displayed was 03 so it may very well have stopped.
