Hello Everyone. I am currently booked at AoA 9/9-9/14:cheer2: However, I am rethinking it. Now I am trying to decide whether or not to change to the week before Thanksgiving. 11/18-11/22. It will be myself, DH, DS4, and DS1. My concern for September is the heat. I know the crowds are lower then, but the heat and hurricane threat make me a little nervous that it might not be as enjoyable. November has better weather, but slightly higher crowds. Anyone have experience with the two months that they would like to share?:confused3 Thanks in Advance!

We went last year at the end of September and it was hot. I too was concerned about the heat, but it my opinion it was not that bad with the exception of a thunderstorm here and there. I even booked for Sept 7-14 this year :)

We just took breaks and there are plenty of place to duck into to cool off. We would look around in the shops, took a break in the Mexican QS in Frontierland or went into attractions like the Tiki Room or Presidents.

Our other trips were in mid October and the end of November and we did run into very warm weather for the October trip.

We've been in September the past two years and are going back this year! The heat really isnt unbearable and there has only been one instance in the times we went that the rain was so bad we had to change our plans for the day (knock on wood)! There will be showers every now and again, but just make sure to pack a poncho and keep on going!

I havent been there in Nov, but IMO, I dont think the change is necessary.

We have done September and November. Both were great times to go. September is still hot and a little rain but nothing to ruin the trip. Crowds were low. November had some chilly days/nights but no rain from what I can remember. I would base your choice on what you want to see while in Disney. If you like Halloween, then go in September. But if you want to see the Christmas decorations (which I highly recommend you do at least once), then go in November.

We have been to the World during the month of November. Love that time of the year. Your dates will ensure decent weather and crowds are not a problem. Choice between September of November...... November hands down.

I like September a lot better, but I like hot weather. I went in November this past year and I (even coming from NYC) was very cold at night. Also, September is free dining, and the Halloween party, which is the best party.

We have been there in Sept four of the past six years. The other two trips were late Oct and the week after Thanksgiving.

The reality with weather is that is just depends and you can't be certain how it will turn out.

The first year we went in Sept. it was incredibly hot. The other 3 years it was hot, but not the upper 90's like the first year. Rain has been minimal during all 4 Sept. trips we have taken--storming a few hours at most on one day. Packing was easy, though--shorts. A light fleece for some of the table service restaurants. All done. :)

The Oct trip was amazing. Perfect temps and no rain.

The trip the week after Thanksgiving was a mix. We packed for all types of weather--and used it all. Keep in mind that hurricane season goes through the end of Nov. ;)
3 warm days--shorts weather
2 days of torrential downpours
1 cold day

If the heat is a real concern for your family, I'd suggest going in Nov. Other than that you really can't be certain how the weather will be. :beach: Either way, have an amazing time!

We went September 2006 and we were MISERABLE from the heat & humidity. NEVER AGAIN!!! Not to mention the nasty love bugs sticking to our sweaty skin. They don't bother me, I know they don't bite, but it's still icky.

In 2007 & 2008 we went the second week of November and the weather was perfect!! It did get cool 2 nights in 2007, but I prefered the 60's (daytime highs) those 2 days over 90+ degree suffocating heat in September.

Also, we hate crowds. While the parks were quieter in September (felt empty), November was not super crowded and we didn't mind it.

Last year we went the first of May and it was in the 90's for most of our trip. This year, we're trying late October. Please let it be unseasonably cool that week!!!

We went in October 2010, I think the 3rd week, and it was miserable all week long. It wasn't so much the heat, it was the humidity! It was like walking around in an attic during July all week long. I couldn't imagine how September would be...

We love low crowds, but hate the heat/humidity. So we like November much better. Cool weather trumps free dining for us. The crowds over the last few years have grown, but it's very doable. And you have small children, and in the heat, that would mean wayyyyyy more breaks.

I vote November!!!

NOOOO!!! Not what I wanted to hear about the third week in October. But I have to agree, your attic analogy is RIGHT ON THE MARK. That's the perfect way to explain what the end of September felt like to us!

I've been in both September and November. In November, I've gone over Veterans Day week, so a little earlier than you were there and possibly less crowded but I'm not sure. Crowds were not that much different between September and November. September was hot, but not unbearable. But there were definitely days where we rode Nemo several times to walk through the cold queue. I wouldn't really be too concerned about the hurricane issue. It's possible, but highly unlikely. I prefer November, but wouldn't pass up a September trip (as I probably would with, say, a July trip).

I've been in October, I think, 5 times since 2005, and 2010 was the only year where it was miserable.

I've been in November 2008, and it was actually cold with frost on the ground, but I loved it. I would much rather be cold at Disney, than sweaty and stinky. :scared:

Then we went the exact same week in 2009, and it was the complete opposite! 80's all week...

So you never know until you go. :)

Don't let Hurricane season be your deciding factor.Atlantic Hurricane season runs from June 1- Nov 30th

Thanks for all the input. I got a pin yesterday for free dining pixiedust: so either time will essentially be around the same price. Still haven't decided :scratchin, but I am sure either way we will have a great time just being together at the happiest place on Earth! I think I am leaning more toward November now....The attic analogy really got to me:)

I have been in September two times and November three...
I LOVE November (we go around the 11th so NO crowds) The weather is AMAZING and Christmas decor is AMAZING. We re going again in October/Nov to stay away from the heat. We are not even worried about the free dinning in September. Not worth it in my opp. However, we chose to go in October/Nov. because we are all HUGE fans of the Disney park music, and they do not have that when Christmas is up and running. Nothing like the Epcot entrance music pixiedust:
