Wanting pros/cons/advice

Would Mid/Late September or Early/Mid October be better?

Weather? Crowds? Other considerations?

Weather is pretty much going to be identical still hot, though mid-October may be a few degrees cooler. We always found mid to late September the least crowded as school is back in session for everyone and "most" people are not going to take their kids out within the first month or so. Whereas, early to mid-October depending on Columbus day crowds could be a bit busier. Also, mid-October may pick up a bit for Halloween festivities. Either time, especially, September will most likely not be crowded except for the few days before and after Columbus Day, as always this could change but in past years this was my experience.

September after Labor day is generally less crowded due to parents being less willing to take their kids out of school. I went the week after labor day last year and the crowds were really low. Highest wait of the entire trip was 30 minutes for ToT but something to keep in mind is that international travel was still banned so that definitely contributed to the lower crowds. Weather was INSANELY hot and humid, like hotter than July or August. It also rained every single day in the mid/late afternoon. There was lightning some days but it didn't last for very long.

October will most definitely be busier due to Halloween festivities and I would avoid going Columbus day weekend if you can. A lot of schools in the US have fall break in October as well.

If you want to do MNSSHP or Halloween Horror Nights at Universal tickets will be more expensive in October and cheaper in September.
