September or November?

We are doing a big trip next year, and given out distance to America, we don't get to go as often as we would like! What are the pros and cons of going late September or early November?

We want to avoid busy/peak periods. Not really interested in Halloween deco, we would prefer to see Disneyland in all its natural glory since we never see it that way! We don't really want very hot days, as I burn in 20 minutes :snooty:

That pretty much sums up what we want out of our trip - Not too busy, not too hot, so which of these months would be the better option?

I've been to dlr both September and early November so might be able to help. Last November was lovely expect for one MAJOR oversight. The weather was a little cool in the morning, a little warm in the afternoon and cold at night again. They had taken down all of the Halloween decor (we arrived the 5th) and stated putting up Christmas decor but it was a work in progress. The crowds were great EXPECT we didn't realize they tape their HUGE annual Christmas parade early November. And unfortunately it's near impossible to find the date of it until RIGHT before they do it and it means horrendous crowds. I believe they even sell out. If your lucky and smart enough to avoid this day I'd early November. September is very hot and a cool in the evenings. They do have all of their Halloween decorations out by mid September and the crowds are pretty low (just check it's not a marathon, holiday, or dapper day if your looking to avoid crowds). I did enjoying swimming at the hotel in September but it was too cold by November. The hours are pretty much the same both times of year. Let me know if you need more help!

Thanks for the insight, I take it the parade you mentioned is like an intro to the Christmas parade for the year, not a daily thing? The only thing I read about early November is that Small World could be down due to taking down the Halloween deco and putting up Xmas deco, wouldn't really want to miss out on Small World :)

Here's a link to a thread with "Historical DLR Park Hours".
It also list the attractions closed for refurbishment.

You can scroll through any month for the past several years. As you look through the months, you'll begin to see a trend for refurbishments. Especially ones related to holiday themes.

See what September and November have been like. I hope this helps you decide which time will be best for your trip.

November would be better based on what you have outlined. But read up. These threads may help.
