So planning my boys first trip, September ( may get free dining) or May (starwars weekend). What would you do? They will miss 3 days of school either way ( we have never taken them out of school before but we will for this) The boys will be 13 & 9. Pros what would you do?

Although I've never been in May, September is our favorite time to go. It's crazy super hot but being original Floridians we are used to it and try to use strategy for the hottest parts of the day, September has the free dining like you said, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is awesome and the lower crowds are really nice.

I'd go in May for Star Wars weekend. My mom and I went one year during that time. Weather was great (not as hot and humid as September) and the crowds weren't all that bad other than in DHS. Even then we were able to see/do everything we wanted with some planning.

I really love September. If you go the 15th or later you can go to the MNSSHP which is a lot of fun. (they also may add more parties in early sept like last year). We noticed a huge difference in prices starting the second week in may compared to the first. Way cheaper in mid late may then the beginning. We are going may 8th to 12th this year and got for around 90$ a night on orbitz for a value resort.

If I go last two days of Aug into the first week of September and free dining starts a day or two later......I know I can make two reservations but what can I do about park tickets.
