September/October 2014 Roll Call

For anyone planning to do the Walk in Walt's Footsteps on your September or October trips to DLR, be aware that Walt's apartment will not be included in the tour I think early September through to mid-October. I'm a bit devastated :sad1:

so sad for you .... we hit DLR 26th October and thinking to do this 1st week November, now I'll check it has been re-opened before booking. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm so looking forward to Mickeys Halloween Party, my DD12 and I have our costumes! She is going as Alice and I'm dressing up in a Mad Hatters Tea Party dress. Our friends who are travelling with us have decided to go as Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum and Queen of Hearts...we will be a sight lol

For those of you who do some online shopping and mail to your hotels, when do you start ordering? We are going in 6 weeks :)

Hoping the Aussie dollar starts a little rise as I need more $$$

I love when it gets to pre shopping time! I started ordering about a month before our last trip, this time because we are cruising first and then hitting then WDW I will have to wait a bit longer. Ana and Elsa costumes are due in stock on the Disneystore at the end of September so I will order them then because I am terrified of missing out!

Your costumes sound fabulous! I hope you take photos and post them when you get back:)

Fastpass+ are booked - overall I'm happy with my selections but it is not as easy system to use (in my opinion!) and there were a few attractions I haven't been able to snag yet.

Still a few days to book so fingers crossed I can get 7 dwarves mine train!

Got 7 dwarves:) And Enchanted tales with Belle:) And Elsa and Ana meet and greet:) - although I'm hoping they will be on our cruise but now I have a back up!

Tomorrow! We fly out tomorrow! Where did the past 9 months go?

Thanks for all of the tips and info - I wouldn't have dared try to take on WDW if I didn't have help from the Dis Anzacs.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, magical trip x

Good luck tomorrow! I can't believe its September either - I can officially say we leave next month now!

:dance3:

5 days OMG

The weather is good too

Just have to get through 4 work days...

:scared1:

Have a blast all of you leaving this week (or already there!).

11 days until I can book FP+ reservations!! Whoo.

Day 1 = AK hoping for FP for EE, Kali Rapids & Primevil Whirl. Then a mono rail tour of the resorts to get our bearings and then off to the outlets for some hard core shopping.

Day 2 = MK hoping for FP with Space, SDMT & Big Thunder or Splash. Might hop to Epcot to catch a 9.00 pm Illusions.

Day 3 = HS hoping for FP with Toy Story, Great Movie and Star Tours. Catch Fantasmic @ 7.30 pm and then hop to MK for the electrical parade & 10.00 pm Wishes

Day 4 = US - Harry Potter here we come!

Day 5 = IOA - More Harry magic and some Minions

Day 6 = Epcot with FP for Test Track, Soarin & Malstrom. Food & Wine festival and Illuminations @ 9.00 pm if we didn't get there already.

This leaves two days in Orlando for Park "top up visits" before we leave for the trip to DC, NYC and Vegas.

To all of you leaving this week, have a great time!!!

It really is hard to believe how fast time has flown by.

Crazy Cat Lady - I got on not long after our FP+ booking opened up. Got what I wanted - not always the times I wanted for the super popular stuff - mostly a bit later than I had hoped because of course people whose FP+ opened up earlier than mine had booked before me. Take note of the advice posted elsewhere and just accept what they suggest then immediately go in and edit your plans and search actual available times and change to what you want (or as close as possible-I did do some rearranging of my plans to suit).

And to everyone else departing shortly - have a fantastic time and don't forget to update.

Thanks for the advice! I'm trying not to be my normal super control freak around the FP+ times. :rotfl:

We will rope drop and try to use most of our FP+ from mid morning onwards, especially the days that we want to hop to other parks or go shopping etc in the afternoon.

I've been in training, so hopefully we can move pretty quick, ride what we want and then relax and take in the sights and sounds.

Looking forward to all the trip reports! popcorn::

There is a school of thought that thinks that if you're hopping, you might be better to book your FP+ for your second park.
You would then get to the first park early and get in the stand-by lanes for the big rides first up.
That way, you won't necessarily be contending with longer stand-by queues in the afternoon.
