September/October 2014 Roll Call

:rolleyes1 to those of you who know me well it will come as no surprise to know I've made changes to our trip :lmao:
We are no longer doing a b2b on the Magic but have jumped ship :scared1: to RCCL for our first cruise the KSF was just to good of a deal to not jump on and we are now doing 9 nights on the Seranade of the seas giving us 2 extra ports instead of 7 nights on the Magic and saving ourselves $1500 as well :thumbsup2
We are still doing the transatlantic on the Magic :)

Yay for extra savings and ports.

What are your ports?

Also, I'm stumped on the abbreviation KSF?

Royal Caribbean is fantastic, I don't think you will be disappointed, it will be an interesting comparison, even if it isn't quite as good, saving $1500 will be worth not having Hidden mickeys :goodvibes

KSF-king size food:rotfl2:

I'm happy to try it on such a port intensive cruise it will be interesting to see what the whole family thinks ;) If we weren't getting straight on a Disney cruise after I might not be so brave :rotfl2:

I did a cruise on navigator of the seas from Rome a few years ago, loved it.
I have no plans whatsoever to do a Disney cruise, so I guess I just don't get it, double the cost of a RC or celebrity cruise, not sure what it could possibly offer for the price.
Our cruise was 7 nights, 4 ports, so only two full days on the ship. Was such a fantastic week, we did Messina and I liked it a lot, we hired a car with a couple from Sweden that I met on cruise critic, had a lovely day exploring.
I agree I think in port heavy cruises, you want a boat with good food, some good entertainment and great ports.
Royal Caribbean have great kids club I believe, probably not the calibre of Disney, but the kids certainly seem happy!!

:rotfl: Aren't all cruises king size food? I often think how if I won lotto, I'd like to do one of those half year cruises around the world. But then I think about how much food they provide, and my distinct lack of self-control when it comes to a good meal, and I realise that it would be a very bad idea.

Those ports sound wonderful WAMUM.
I did a Eastern Med cruise with Costa and really didn't like the ship. Every announcement was in about a million different languages (slight exaggeration) and it took forever to be told anything. However, it was extremely port intensive (7 destinations in 7 days) and I count that cruise as one of the best trips I've ever done. Sitting out on the front of the ship with my breakfast, watching as the sun rose over a new beautiful European location, is a memory I will savour forever.
With the European ports as beautiful as they are, I think it would be near impossible to not have fun, regardless of the ship.

As far as it what it offers for kids, I'm not sure any other cruise line could compete. What it offers for adults is much more unquantifiable. I feel in love with the Disney Fantasy and would travel on it even without my son.
But I agree with you about price difference and value for dollar. If my son wasn't a consideration, I think my first pic would be Celebrity.
At the end of the day, I love cruising so much, I think I'd be happy on any ship. I'd even try Costa or P&O again if the price was right.

My kids loved P&O:eek: best that I never exposed them to DCL:rotfl2:

Mine too lol!! We spot the Pacific Dawn or Princess or whatever it is fairly regularly in Bris and they love to wave to "our ship". That being said, they watch Disney Cruise Line 'documentaries' incredibly enthusiastically, and have absolutely no doubts in their mind they'll be on one of those ships one day! :rotfl:

I had to go to the second page to find this thread :scared1:

Hi everyone

I must confess I have been lurking on this forum for a while, but never felt I had anything to add until now - we are going to Disney!

Depart 6 October 2014, spending a few days in Las Vegas, then off to Disneyworld (for almost two weeks!) before spending our final six days in Disneyland.

This trip will be my husband and my 4th trip to the USA, three times at Disneyworld and three times at Disneyland. For DD10 and DD6, this will be their second trip to Disneyworld and third trip to Disneyland. pixiedust:

I love reading about all your plans and trips, so inspiring. Its fantastic to have a forum like this were people understand my need to keep going back to the 'World' and the 'Land'.

Yay more names to add!

I'm just in the process of catching up on all the DIS threads I've missed over the last week or so, but I will update the first post as soon as possible :)

So, that's flights, Orlando Hotel and Park tickets done. Now I just need to pay for the rest of the trip!...........

It does! The next step is to order the Vegas show tickets, the DC Hop on Hop on tickets and the Disney Photo package. But I'll have to wait until June to have the cash.
