Do you get refillable mugs for doing ADR's on the dining plan?

Thanks for verifying I'm not crazy. :)

So now I am doing Disney maths and trying to work out if it is worth it for us to get 1 premier AP but its so hard to know if its worth it.

I've book a 2 bedroom villa off site for $2600 for the 17 nights we will be in Orlando (10 days WDW) and I just don't think I will get that good a deal on site even with a discount.

Will keep looking and see what happens.

When you do the dining plan you get the refillable mugs...and i have 3 reservations so that's 3 separate dining plans..thus 3 sets of mugs.....remember you cant do the dining plan if you don't stay at Disney, And the mugs are only to be used at the resort you stay at.

Dates are up for MNSSHP at WDW.

Wish they'd release the dates for the Halloween party at DL (along with park hours etc..) I'm not good at waiting! I think we'll be too early for the parties though :(

MNSSHP (and it also says MVMCP) can be booked now, I just got our Oct 31st tickets :) Sooo exciting, this trip is all coming together nicely now! Everything paid for except Universal and the last bit of our Cruise and then we're done :yay:

ETA: I should clarify that the above is for WDW.

Awesome Teddykins. It's certainly nice to have everything paid for. I paid the last bit on my cruise this morning and have just bought my MNSSHP tickets. Now I just need to save up some food and shopping money. With just about everything paid for, it all feels so very real now. Can't wait!

It is very nice, starting to stress less about it all, I still have the food and shopping (lots and lots of that) to save for but the main components are almost done. We went ahead a few weeks ago and just paid the rest of the our Disney balance off and then the next day the $$ went up so we could have saved $30 if I wasn't in such a hurry to pay it off :rotfl:

Now we just need to decide if we want to do the nov 1st party, I had planned for us to go to Epcot that day (try and avoid the F&W crowed), there doesn't appear to be too much that interests us over there so we were thinking 2-3 hours should be enough time there but it's hard to say when you've never been before.

Which cruise are you doing? Being on this forum has sparked my interest in DCL but it's so far away from here and getting there isn't as easy as getting to Sydney for P&O and Carnival :(

Don't let that increasing dollar worry you. It could just have easily gone down the day after you paid - you just can't predict it. About every two weeks I've been paying for parts of my trip and the dollar has been fluctuating quite a bit. But compared to years gone by, it's still been really strong. Dollar-wise I think we've picked a good year to go to the U.S. :thumbsup2

Don't under-estimate how long you'll need at Epcot. When I was there as a teenager it was by far my favourite park. For this trip I've scheduled one morning and 3 afternoon/evenings there and I'm thinking we might want more. During F&W Festival they have a free band playing each night and many of them are quite well known. Even if there's not much you're interested in, you'll need 2-3 hours just to walk the park. It's huge.

I'm cruising on the Disney Fantasy. I can't wait. I've done 3 cruises before and loved them. But they were all about the destination and price. This cruise is all about the ship - it looks beautiful.

Hopefully it stays like that for a while, I remember when we went to NZ in 09, we almost got stuck at ChCh airport due to the departure tax luckily $25nz was only $15au at the time because we only had $30 left to our names..too much souvenir shopping in Welly :rotfl2:

I'd like to spend more than that at Epcot, it looks like an interesting place and our trip is going to be rush rush rush because we only have 4.5 days there, I really wish the budget could have stretched to stay another day or two but I'll know for next time. We're in a bit of a position as we'd like to do 2 parties so that we're not rushing around trying to do everything during our first one but that means we sacrifice a park - although I was thinking maybe we could do AK on the 1st seeing as it's only open until 5 and then go to the party but the weekend crowds for Epcot are kinda scary.. don't want to get caught up in that. It's really hard when you haven't been before and don't know what to expect though. Huge parks are definitely not something us Aussie's are use too, ours are very small in comparison. I feel like we should have pushed for at least one more day though, had no idea wdw was this big.. they need a warning sign when you book your vacation for us newbies I think :)

Would love to go on the Fantasy, she is a beautiful ship and doesn't appear to be too dear. The Dream and Miracle look like great ships too. Need to win the lotto lol, so many places to visit, so little money to do it all on.

Ahh, the days of having to pay departure taxes in the airport. That was ridiculous. Luckily the NZ government has wisened up since those days and now tacks the departure tax onto airfares.

I just looked at a calendar and saw that the 1st is a Friday. I can understand your reservations of not wanting to be in Epcot then. Could you go to Epcot on the morning of the 31st (before the party) and then again on a hopefully quieter evening (perhaps the Sunday or Monday if you'll still be around then). The Fireworks show in Epcot is really impressive. It's was years ago I was there, but I have vivid memories of Illuminations.

Aussie's theme parks are still pretty impressive in comparison to NZ's theme parks (or lack thereof). I have a bit of a soft spot for Dreamworld and memories of my then 2yr old lighting up when he saw Wiggles World. :rotfl:

Hi Michaella,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your confusion is over Karen's use of the word 'reservation'. Karen has 3 hotel reservations (each including the dining plan) hence the reason she is getting 3 mugs per person. The amount of mugs you get does not relate to the number of restaurant reservations you make.

If your AoA stay is booked under one reservation number (i.e. you're not staying in more than one WDW resort or you didn't book parts of your accommodation seperately) then you will get one mug per person.

Congrats on having things paid off.

Epcot is easily my favourite park at WDW.

And if you like Halloween and your time and budget does stretch, I would recommend doing two parties. If you're not sure about Halloween, then one party should be plenty.

That's good news, was a rather backwards way of running an airport and ChCh was the only one that did it out of the big 3 so seemed rather odd to us at the time.

We're at Universal from the 28th - 31st and then will head to AoA in the arvo after some morning Potter runs, expecting to get to AoA at around 2.30 depending on what time we leave Universal (could be earlier still not sure yet) Our plane from mco - dallas leaves at 5.15pm on the 4th and we're getting the ME to the airport so we'd have to be on that 3 hours before our flight if I remember correctly? which means if we get up early we can knock some time out at a park before we say goodbye to Mickey I was thinking AK as my friend is animal nuts but not entirely sure. As it stands my lite touring plan hasn't got us going to MK during the day but the 2nd and 3rd are up in arms at the moment, the parks I've written down go against the crowd calendar at easywdw so I am unsure what to do lol. Too much planning :coffee: I really really want to see Illuminations though!

Haha yeah I've been past Rainbow's End, we were going to go there but upon seeing it we decided not to and went into the Westfield instead and did some shopping (can't go wrong :D) We use to go to the Goldy every 3-6 months though so the parks have become stale.. I still love them and still visit them but it leaves you longing for something more thrilling like the US/Europe parks have. Cedar Point has quite a lot of coasters I'd love to see here but our parks won't spend the big $$$ to get them which is a shame. I will say Wiggles World is awesome, I always ride the big red car when we go and sing along to all the songs, I love the Wiggles :)

Congrats on having things paid off.

Just not sure about the timing really, it's either do F&W crowds or not do a party I think but not knowing what the crowds are really like it's a bit hard to make the call. Been told they're pretty bad on the weekends and my friend hates huge crowds so I don't want to piss her off by doing the wrong thing..it's her holiday too (and she needs it more than I do)

Hi there,

Newbie Disney Fan here. DD (16) and I will be heading off on our trip to NYC and LA on September 18!
Just came across this forum yesterday and my mind is blown!!
There is SO MUCH INFORMATION  here, I don't know where to start.

Anyway our trip leaves Sydney on September 18 and we stay in NYC until the 30th when we leave and head over to LA until the 9th. Plan is to have 4 days in DL, 1 in Universal and the rest touring around the LA area.

Can someone please direct me to a good thread to look at Hotels in the DL area.

Thanks!
Looking forward to reading about every ones trips

Hi Leanne and welcome!

There are a LOT of hotels in the Disneyland area, and most of them are within walking distance to the entrance of Disneyland and DCA. There is a Disneyland section here on the DIS, but I don't know if there is a specific area that recommends external (non Disney) hotels. Everybody seems to have their favourites, I've stayed at a few myself. It might be a good idea to have a look around on Tripadvisor and see what people recommend and then narrow it down to a few that suit you and your DD. We're staying at HoJos this time, but the water park is a big drawcard to us with our three young boys. We've stayed at the Plaza Inn and Suites and the Carousel before and all have been fine.

:wave2: Welcome to the boards I am not recommending this website to use just to look at the Map it gives you a great idea of the location of the hotels
http://www.accommodationsneardisney.com/Disneyland/default.asp
And here is a thread talking about those hotels
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2796786&highlight=hotel+map

We stayed at Del Sol inn a very basic hotel suited us right across the walkway if you are able to I would recommend staying onsite for the Early Mornng entry.
Have fun planning!
