September/October 2013 check in

My (awesome uber-planning) Disney Experience has opened up FastPass Plus bookings into October. (with the exception of 30 September)

I can nearly completely schedule every waking hour at the parks now. Heck...my AK day is completely full!

I sure hope my custom Magic Bands are waiting for me at the resort!

I want a magic band! What colour did you pick?

Cool. Lucky you! :)

I'm still getting the generic "we're sorry" message when I click on the Fastpass link. I would really like to be part of it, but I'm not holding my breath - the system is still having trouble recognising my son's ticket. (It's linked, but it doesn't recognise what type of ticket it is)

I've seen other Dis-sers having the same issue with child tickets. My DS is on an adult ticket and there wasn't an issue.

Since you're renting points like me, I'm curious. Did the points owner have to do anything before you were able to access the Fastpass?

No. All I did was go in and link my reservation number to MDE account; and enter the UT ticket numbers. The points owner has not done anything.

Also, is Jedi Training one of the things you can Fastpass at HS?

For HS, I'm seeing

  • Muppet Vision 3D
  • Rock n Roller Coaster
  • Star Tours - the Adventure continues
  • The Great Movie Ride
  • Tower of Terror
  • Toy Story Midway Mania

Cheers for that info.

I think I'm a bit relieved that when I charge to sign my son up for Jedi Training, I won't be competing for a time with people who have already signed up.

I really don't want to rush anywhere while I'm at WDW, but I think there are 2 mornings when I will.
The first will be at Epcot to get a Soarin Fastpass. The other will be at HS when my son and I charge to sign up for an early Jedi Training and my husband charges to get Toy Story fast passes.
Other than that I'm happy to take things as they come.

26 days and counting....

I think one of the benefits of FP+ is not to have to do the early fast walk (not running!!) rush. I've booked in Soarin' and Test Track each on two separate occasions at Epcot.

And I've also booked in TSM, RnRCoaster and StarTours at HS on my HS day. This day worked out well for us with the FP+ because we're doing a character breakfast on the day with friends and I don't need to do the early rush for this.

Cool. It'll match well with the tripod. :)

Yes. Pity there was no purple option.

Wow, what date is this for? I had the option of
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Disney Junior
  • Fantasmic!
  • Indiana Jones
  • Lights, Motor, Action
  • Muppet Vision
  • Rock n Roller Coaster
  • Star Tours
  • American Idol
  • Great Movie Ride
  • Tower of Terror
  • Toy Story
  • Voyage of the Little Mermaid

This was for September 17. Amazing the difference in what's offered - typical Disney!

I'm going in early October.

That's what I see as the biggest benefit to the system. We only have one morning planned for HS and I would much rather stroll in slowly and breath in my surroundings, than split up my party and rush in two directions.

It's interesting that the system can offer such a different number of experiences on different days. They must still have quite a bit of testing to do if they're decreasing the options in October rather than increasing them.

It's all the scheduled shows that aren't listed, I wonder if they will become available closer to the date? I know they've already published the times in the calendar, but maybe they're allowing for last minute changes?

5 more days!!!:woohoo::cheer2::cool1:
I finished work for almost 7 weeks yesterday :cool1::cool1::cool1: DH finishes today.

Really just busy re-packing, making sure that everything that we need besides a few clothes is in the suitcase.

A dumb question here...do any of you seasoned travellers know whether qantas still give out eye masks? Dh needs one to sleep...me and the kids can sleep any where, any time, him not so much. I have been looking at all the $2 shops and haven't found one. I know that I will probably able to get one from the luggage shop at the airport, but if qantas still give them, then I won't bother :thumbsup2

I don't know what makes me more jealous, the 5 days or the 7 weeks. :)

If I don't remember to say so again, have a fantastic trip.

12 sleeps how did that happen time is going so quickly :)

12 days is so close. 1 1/2 weeks sounds even closer.

I'm counting down to Sunday week as I can't wait to turn the page on the calendar. (Why after saying that am I reminded of the saying "small things amuse small minds?") :rotfl:

My news for the day is that I put in a One Up bid for a Premium economy upgrade on my AKL - LAX flight. The bid was categorised as 'very weak' so let's just say I'm not holding my breath. Either way I'll know roughly 5 days before the flight if I was successful.

I also rung American Airlines to enquire about pre-paying my luggage (which you can't do incase anyone is interested) and while I was on the phone I asked the guy to give me a quote on an upgrade. I'm really not looking forward to this flight home and I thought I might be able to make the 'going home blues' more bearable.
If I didn't already have tickets on that flight and had bought some this morning, it would have cost me approx $400 p/p for first class. I therefore figured an upgrade would cost me no more than about $300 p/p. It seems I was optimistic. It will cost me $1400 p/p and a $150 change fee. The guy on the phone seemed surprised I was no longer interested. Sheesh, I could buy new tickets for all 3 of us and it would cost less than the fee for upgrading just one of us. Needless to say, beside luggage fees, AA will not be getting any more of my money.

:cool1::cheer2: AMAZING! Have a fabulous trip! I haven't flown Qantas in years so can't tell you about the eye masks.

Sare, is it you that's at HoJo's the same time as us, or Kristin? We might see you over there. Look for the family with three small boys; 2,4 and 6 - the youngest two are blonde. And you'll probably here me shouting DS3s name as I chase him! :lmao:

Hope you have a great trip. Qantas still have the eye masks, although I find they have a rather strong dye smell.

Thanks for that. I will let him know.

Thanks. We arrive on the 22nd. Are you still there then? There's me, dh, dd who will be just about to turn nine, dd2 who will be a few weeks short of turning 7 and ds who will be a few weeks short of turning 5. And no doubt we'll be the ones trying to separate bickering children (unless they pleasantly surprise me)

I don't know what makes me more jealous, the 5 days or the 7 weeks. :)

Thanks :)

My gosh on the cost of the upgrade...we didn't even pay that much per person for our flights to vancouver :crazy2: Good luck with your one up bid.
