Going solo in Sep for 10 days for my 60th birthday - still a kid at heart. Staying at Pop Century, got free dining (upgraded it to basic from quick service for about $18 a night). Will be at Universal for 2 days first. Riding down from Atlanta on my Triumph. Perfect Birthday Celebration...

Awesome. I was really excited also when I ordered mine.

I was going to ring DCL tomorrow to prepay my gratuities and put some obc on my account. However the NZ $ has had a bad few days against the US $ and I no longer know if now is the right time to be paying things.

I hate it when I see the dollar start to slide. I can never decide whether to pay for things now incase it continues to get worse, or cross my fingers and hope it's just a glitch and will rise again in a few days.

I know what you mean. We have a large amount already in USD on our Travel Cards. But still have to pay for Photopass +,prepurchased tours etc, plus 11 days of Vacation Rentals before we go. They need to be paid in August, so hope the rate doesn't fall much further. The remainder of the accomodation (21 days )has already been prepaid or will come off the Travel Card. As will the car hire,gas, food and all other spending while over there.

It's great that you have all your spending money sorted. I have put enough money on Disney gift cards to at least cover all my ADRs, but I still have to sort out money for shopping, onboard cruise expenses and the rest of my food. I've had such great luck with the NZ$ up till now, I really don't want it to collapse on me when I'm down to the last few expenses.

Saving shopping money is the biggest concern. I really don't think that what we can afford to save will be in line with what I would like us to save. While I'm not that big of a shopper in general, I do have a tendency to get caught up in the moment when I'm traveling and buy all sorts of souvenirs that I really don't need. I've already told my husband to drag me out of a store if I even show so much as the slightest interest in Mickey Ears.

Yes, the Aussie dollar is sliding too, so much so that I have just gone on a bit of a spending frenzy before it goes any lower! We already have our photopass + but in the last week I have bought airfares from San Fran to Vegas, limo transfer from GCH to LAX, Grand Canyon helicopter tour, Universal Studios tour, and made enquiries about the LA/Hollywood tour (the last two I am booking through Tom at Anaheim 411 - I have been really impressed with his communication and friendliness). I am also close to booking a Hoover Dam tour (will probably book that in the next day or so).

So then all that will be left is Mickey's Halloween Party, Alcatraz and perhaps a limo service to and from John Wayne Airport (though it could just be a taxi van at this stage as I am not having much luck organising a reasonably priced car service). Oh, and I still want to book a Las Vegas show.
