Are there any big things happening at Disneyland in September? I want to book, but, I am just wondering if anything else is happening...??

Not really! I think there is a marathon or 1/2 marathon or something, other than that I can't remember any real big things. Usually for most of the month the Haunted Mansion will be down for the NBC makeover, other than that, it's a great month to go!

Half marathon is Labor Day weekend.

Other than that, I can't think of anything that was going on on our last Sept trip, but I'm going then, too, and would love to know! :)

I'm hoping, but am not counting, on Tarzan being open again by then. I liked being up in that tree. :)

Someone told me that Sept is some sort of traditional time for Matterhorn to be closed for maintenance. I looked on whichever website it is that shows that sort of thing, and verified that it was closed last year for big maintenance, and the year before that for something, and I *think* the year before for something else, but it didn't seem to be a single common trend, just a few years for somewhat different reasons. I really really HOPE that the expert was wrong, but since I see very accurate reports from the person elsewhere (I can't remember who it was, though) I'm thinking they know better than I do. So I'm gearing myself for NO Matterhorn.

But you're asking about events, and I guess that other than knowing when the marathon will be, I don't have much info!

We went to dl in sept 05' the very last week, the hm was down:sad2: but the Matterhorn was running the whole week just fine:) and no crowds great time to go, but the park hours i think were only 10am to 8pm at dl and 10am to 6pm at dca the weekend hours are longer though for the fireworks and parades, hope you get to see the fireworks on one of your days they are great.

Matterhorn tends to go down anywhere between September and December for atleast 2 months. It was extra long last year since it didn't go down like usual in 2005 for the 50th celebration!
