So I've looked at AAA Trip Tix & Gas Buddy to get current gas prices for CA, but I'm wondering how much I'm going to need to adjust this for our trip this fall.
We're driving from Oregon (about 5 hours to the CA border), and then down to Anaheim, mid-September. Our gas guzzler gets about 17+ (?) mpg on the freeway (we won't fit in our more efficient cars for long distance). I've been estimating my total budget at $4/gallon of regular cheapest gas. I know in Oregon it's lower than CA, so I just figured $4 as an average (it's above in some places in S.Ca, and much lower in OR).
Is $4/gallon going to be a good estimate for September (12-17)? I thought that was about the time prices dropped a bit once holiday travels were over. I don't even know how much to estimate since gas seems to keep increasing with no drops...
We went last year at this time and gas seemed to drop around that time.
