September Fireworks and Fantasmic

We are going to be in Disneyland Sept. 9-13 for our 5th Anniversary and I am trying to PLAN PLAN PLAN. I am getting frustrated because the schedules for parades, Fantasmic and Fireworks is not on the Disneyland site yet.

I have heard that at that time of the year, Fantasmic and the fireworks are only on weekends but does that include Friday ? We have to drive to Las Vegas Saturday and therefore can't be there that late.

Could we see both Fantasmic and the Fireworks on Friday night if they were showing ?

You can see both Fantasmic and the Fireworks if they are on the same night. It kind of a pain moving between the hub and Rivers of America though.

If you are really ambitious (and if theres a 10:30 Fantasmic show) you can see the Electrical Parade at DCA rush over to DL, see the fireworks, then go see Fantasmic.

I think I read somewhere that Fantasmic is going down for refurb from Sept through the holidays. Not sure if thats true or not.

We are going the exact same time as you, 9-13 and I am in the same boat. I check back daily to see if they've updated the schedule but I'm not getting my hopes up. There are quite a few ride closures during that time so I would not be surprised if they don't have many or any parades or fireworks during that time as well. I have heard that fantasmic won't be playing in September and it's not usually on Fridays during off season anyway. The fireworks I'm not sure, we'll just have to wait and see but again I would not be surprised if they were only saturdays or not at all.

Check laughingplace.com http://www.laughingplace.com/guide-cal-DL-200709.asp for last year's schedule to get some idea of what the entertainment schedule should look like. It looks to me like during the same week last year, you had the parade once a day at 7 p.m. then twice on Friday and Sat; and Fantasmic was 2 performances on Saturday. That's usually a pretty good indicator of what this year will look like.

I have read here that Fantasmic is slated to go down for refurb in the fall, but I have not seen it confirmed yet by any official announcements. Can anybody confirm this? Trying to plan for our October trip-- Thanks!

According to an article I read on Miceage, Fantasmic will be down in September and October, return in mid November for the holiday season, than go back down in January while they replace and rehaul various parts of the show.

Parade of Dreams will be moving to the MK in WDW, it sounded like that would happen in 2009, but the fact that parade isn't listed on the schedule after Labor Day makes me wonder if that is the last weekend it will be around at DL.

I am not sure about Remember and why it isn't listed on the schedule. Normally, it would be on Friday and Saturday nights at the very least so hopefully that will be the case.

Amy, thank you for the link! I was really wondering about the source of that info. Well, dang. I guess I can take F! reserved seating, and Aladdin off the itinerary for October.

On the other hand, I missed Billy Hill the first time around, so we'll be sure to catch that show.

I would be VERY surprised if there were no parades. It's pretty integral, isn't it?

We are going Sept. 30, Oct 1 & 2... I have anxiously awaiting the entertainment schedule as well! I am hoping for AT LEAST a parade!!

I am bummed for you, F! is such a great show. But it will be even better once they finish all those upgrades.

I do know that for awhile Disneyland didn't have a parade. When they replaced the "Disneyland Parade of the Stars" with the "Parade of Dreams" they had a span with no parade. It stunk! Of course once Parade of Dreams came on board, it was worth the wait but in the meantime, I missed having a parade to enjoy with my dd. Its just hard to say at this point when the Parade of Dreams will be done for good. I also know that at some point, the Electrical Parade will be over at Disneyland. But I think that will be later, during all the DCA mess (and after they repave Main Street).

Nooooooooooooo!! I knew about Small World and HM but I didn't know about this. That's going to be a bummer for our next trip.

Hi!

I am going to Disneyland on Sept 3 and was also concerned about the non existant parade/show schedule on the Disneyland website. I emailed Disneyland and was told that the park hours were usually up 2 months in advance but that the entertainment schedule was usually only up one month in advance. And as of now, still nothing for Sept 3, it stops at Sept 1. From what I have heard, the EP wont be palying but i'm really hoping that Fantasmic will !!!!!!

I really hope POD is still running in Sept. It seems to be that they would move it to MK after the Winter Holidays not after summer.

I am getting totally choked by the number of closures and refurbs and cancellations that seem to be in the cards for our Sept 17-23 trip. No F!, HM, IASW, Aladdin, Sun Wheel and now no parade? I am thinking it may be worth paying a big cancellation fee if our wish-list of things to see keeps getting the axe! Does anyone know if there are any chances of "soft openings" for things like the HM holiday overlay? It is supposed to re-open a few days after we leave on the 23rd. I know that closures are the price to pay in the off-season, but this many seems a little too hard to take!

The Parade not being run is not confirmed yet, we just need to wait for DL to update their calender for Sept.

Fantasmic is officially down after Labor Day but it seems that Aladdin is back on . It no longer appears on the refurb list of DCA.
