September Fantasmic Dining

I called yesterday to make reservation for Fantasmic Dining. The CM told me there was nothing available but that it may not be open for reservations yet. I asked her if there was any way for her to find out if it was open or when it would open. She said that there wasn't but she was sure it would be open by the end of June. Does anyone know if this is open for reservations yet and if not how to find out when it will open. I'm trying to make reservations for 13 people. We are trying to get the September 25th show.

Oh, sorry to hear that...but don't think you're going to have much luck booking at this point when it's just 3 months away, especially for such a big group.

It's not that "they haven't opened reservations up yet"...CM had no idea what she was talking about. They've been taking reservations for Fantasmic on Sept. 25 since March 2011, so people have been booking for almost 3 months already!

My only suggestion would be to call back & see if you can break the gang up into smaller parties...and try for lunch reservations instead of dinner. But you may need major pixie dust to land Fantasmic reservations at this point...my guess is they are fully-booked and have been for several weeks.

That is what I was thinking. I tried at my 180 + 10 and the CM I got at that time told me it wasn't open yet. Then I tried back a month later and that CM told me she couldn't get me anything not even broken in smaller groups. I called yesterday just to try and see if something became available and this CM tells me it may not be open yet. I will keep trying. Maybe some pixie dust will come my way. I don't mind breaking up the group and I don't care if I can't get the whole group. I'm just worried about 9 people. The other 4 invited themselves on this trip any way.

sure would be nice if they'd get the online booking for Fantasmic working again...that would make it a lot easier for you to check often for reservations. Best of luck to you...and have a super fun vacation. We'll be there at the beginning of September.

I just called and the CM checked with someone and the Fantasmic Dining is open for reservations. I asked her if she knew why the online system wasn't working and she said she didn't know. I hope they get it fixed soon.

We have been trying to get one for the 25th or 29th too but have the opposite problem with our party size there are only 2 of us and tables of 2 are hard to get. We started calling at 175 days out (b/c i counted wrong!) and have checked back several times, nothing yet, maybe closer to 45 days when people start cancelling their reservations to avoid the (package cancellation) fee it will open up.

We went in March and we were able to get a reservation for 4 at the last minute. I thought that the end of September would be easier to get the reservation then March. You just never know sometimes. I just wish they would fix the online system so I can check when I want and I don't have to call.

I made my reservations at the 180 +10 mark and I was only able to get a 4:05pm dinner reservation on the 6th day of our trip! It sounds like the packages fill up very fast.

ETA - the reservation is for 5 of us.

I thought that the end of September would be easier to get the reservation then March.

1) Fewer Fantasmic! shows in a week
2) Free Dining

I've been trying since our 180 day mark to no avail. We were trying for Sept 22. I've basically given up on the idea that we will get a FDP - Now I am trying to decide if its even worth trying to see Fantasmic without the FDP- because I don't want to be waiting at least 90min prior to see the show.

I hope you get what you are looking for - I ended up just doing an ADR for 50's Prime Time so we had somewhere to eat that day.

I was able to book for my October trip at 180 + 10 with no problem

I was also able to book the FDP for my Honeymoon in November- I called 180 days out with no problem. I even got one of the earliest time slots at Mama Melrose for 2:30.

Good luck! Keep trying!! I have been trying to book Hoop Dee Doo for over a month now with no luck!

The CM that I had today told me that if I don't get anything to make sure that I try 2 days or so before when I want them because if they don't want the reservations they have to cancel 48 hours before so their CC doesn't get charged. I will keep trying. Also she said she wasn't aware the online system wasn't working for Fantasmic reservations. She said they could be doing an upgrade on the way package dining reservation are done.

I booked mine on April 1 st for October online.

Have you tried typing in the date like 09/28/2011. Just make sure that you double check the date before giving your CC information. There are a few ways to make the date default to the next day (clicking on a grey date on the calendar, clicking on change search options, etc).

I was able to book mine at the 180 + 10 mark for the week of Labor Day (5th day of the reservation) by calling. I wasn't able to book it online. We did get 1:45 for 2 people at Mama Melrose, which I think is a pretty good time and my preferred restaurant

I was finally able to get my reservation today and for all 13 in our party!!!
