September Exercise Challenge - Don't FALL away from exercise!

I can't believe it is SEPTEMBER already!!! This year has flown by!!

I will 'pretty this up' later today, but wanted to get it going. Hopefully I will be able to be better at the upkeep this month. I still have Hives, which I have had for the last 5+ weeks, but am going to try to get back to a somewhat normal life, but they are driving me NUTS and I'm still looking for a Dr. who doesn't laugh me off.....sigh!

I haven't worn my bodybugg since before vacation, but am going to try & hope that it doesn't cause more hives, so not sure of my exercise minutes. Mine may be optimistic!

As usual, commit to as many or as few minutes as you wish for the month, then come back here periodically to update your progress....ie. post "I'm at 346/750 minutes so far" then I will be on to update the list in the first post.

Exercising is my weakness. I started trying to lose weight in January, and have had some success, but need to get more regular with exercising to start moving the pounds off. I've never done one of these, so I'm going to start off pretty small with 500min goal. :goodvibes

Do I have to post my minutes for each time I exercise or just post an update weekly or how do you want it?

I'll go for 1800 min again this month. So far I've done 45 min on my bike yesterday so I'm at 45/1800. Not sure if I'll get out today with thunderstorms in our area but I'll see what I can fit in.

Thanks, Julie, for hosting again, and good luck with finding a DR who can help with your hives. I went through a similar problem years ago and was abso;utley devastated by DRs who didn't seem to take my problem seriously, but I stuck with my search & finally found someoue who diagnosed my problem and got me straightened out right away. Hope you find releif soon. Stick with it until you do!
 
I was 500 shy for last month. :scared1:

I'm determined to get 1500 this month. I keep using the school excuse, but people go to work/school and exercise regularly all the time. :goodvibes
 
So if I am NOT into exercize AT ALL, I should start with a relatively easy goal, right, like walking four times a week for 30 minutes at a time would be 880 minutes for the month of September, right? So far I have done 80 minutes, so I have 800 to go...does this seem like a reasonable goal for someone who is 60 lbs overweight? I am also watching what I eat, and am 5 weeks into my WISH and have lost 7-10 lbs.... I am at a plateau, so I am getting a little depressed...:sad2: but haven't totally given up yet:upsidedow

LuvBalloo - Feel free to update as often as you like. Post what info you want to share, but be sure to include something indicating where you are in your journey....ie. "I'm at 25/500"

Sounds totally reasonable & VERY GOOD, dizmom!! You are off to a GREAT start!!
 
I finally made it back to DIS. Still have hives, seem to be fewer, but larger & itchier & over larger areas.....lucky me! Dermatologist on Monday, Allergist on Thursday next week. Hopefully one of them will have a clue. I'm quite concerned about being off the Zyrtec for a week & then not even benadryl for 48 hours. Concerned....well, more like worried sick....oh well....

I've made it walking a few times, worn my Bugg a few days, but seem to now be allergic to the metal plates on it...go figure. All I want to do is EAT, EAT, EAT!!

Keep moving! Weather will be cooling off soon!
 
I am late joining up this month, but I am finally here.

It has been almost impossible to get in the 1400+ minutes I set for my goal for the last few months, so maybe that is just too much for me. I am setting my goal for this month a bit lower, but still high enough to be challenging. I am setting my goal for 1200 minutes this month.

This is where I am so far......

9/1 43 min.
9/2 30 min.
9/3 35 min.
9/4 30 min.
9/5 100 min.
9/6 40 min.
9/7 40 min.
9/8 55 min.
9/9 50 min.

That brings me to 423/1200.

goldcupmom.... good luck with your hives. DS has numerous allergies that affect his skin, so I know how aggravating it can be. And sometimes an allergy to something that has never bothered you before can pop up out of the blue. I took the same prenatal vitamins for the entire almost-9 months of my pregnancy with DD. But a few weeks after I delivered her I developed these intensely itchy spots on my legs. I actually thought we might have fleas in the house, but no one else was being bothered. When I saw the dermatologist he insisted it was my prenatal vitamins (which I was still taking because I was breastfeeding) and I thought he was NUTS! But I stopped the vitamins and the spots went away almost immediately! Go figure.

Have faith that this will get figured out... meanwhile, try not to scratch (easier said than done!). Try an oatmeal bath... it seems to really help. (Put a handful of regular oatmeal in the foot of an old pair of panty hose, tie it shut and drop is in the tub. Let the warm water run over the oatmeal and create a bit of a milky bath. It is really soothing (provided you aren't allergic to the oatmeal, as we discovered DS was!! :scared1:). Good luck.............P
 
I finally got started yesterday, so I'm at
30/500.

GoldCupMom - hope your hives issues get figured out. :flower3: I know how frustrating it can be trying to figure out the cause. Mandarin oranges used to give me hives as a kid, so it could be a food. The worst thing about allergies is that the change.:headache:
 
I did 20 minutes this morning and another 20 minutes after lunch. I may try to get in another 20 this evening, but not sure. I am at

I'm new to this, but here's how I figured out mine little goal of 500 minutes.
Since I've only been exercising 1-2 times a week, I decided to aim for 3 times a week of 40minutes for 120/week. And there's 4 weeks in the month so 480 minutes, and then I just rounded it up to a more even number.


So far I'm at 180/500:goodvibes
 
I just realized that not only am I horrible at exercizing, I am also lousy at math!!! :rolleyes1 30 x 4 = 120 x 4 weeks in a month = 480, NOT the original 880 that I figured out in my previous post, but I will leave it at 880 as my punishment for being mathematically challenged and unable to review my answers :confused3 and see how I do this month!!!:rolleyes:

Please add (since I obviously cannot)

I think this makes 160/880...
