September AP Rates

Ok I have two guesses, but they are truly guesses, either June 5th or June 24th.

Last year, AP rates for 8/15/10-10/2/10 were released on June 24th. AP rates for 10/3/10-12/25/10 were released on August 17th.
Awaiting August 17th for F & W trip!

Yup the last two years it was 6/24 for AP rates for mid Aug to early Oct that is where I got my guess from...

Okay, my trip is from 9/28-10/2, so I'm just hoping that when the rates are released they cover all my dates. With my luck, our last night's stay won't be discounted until August, and I'll be going nuts by then :lmao:

We are overlapping time periods to, but in August. Already have 4 nights in AKV, and would prefer a couple more in the same resort when these discounts come out. Then we transfer to a moderate or value resort depending on the rate.

My guess would be June 24 too, but because they've been releasing discounts so differently this year, I've been checking the Passholder site daily now that it's June.

Does anyone know or remember the rates that were out last year for the dates from 10/3 - 12/25? Do they usually stay about the same from one block of dates till the next, or say each fall season are they pretty much the same as the last or do they really change them up a lot? Anyone know what the best rates have been for the AP discount and what season seems to get best discounts? We booked with a bounceback of 40% off deluxe that was in my daughters room two weeks ago and are splurging when we go this year in Dec from our usual mods. It's a great discount but wonder if the Ap's are ever the littlest bit better or not really. Okay, Thanks! :)

We used the AP discount for our trips last mid Oct and also the first week of Dec. Both times it was like 35% off moderates and 40% off deluxes.

When we were back down there this past May we booked two bounceback deals and got 35% off the moderates again and the deluxes were 40% off. Even though both trips were for standard rooms at CSR, the Sept one is cheaper than the Nov/Dec one because it falls in Value season, whereas the other one falls primarily in regular season. The percentage off is the same though. The only reason I might switch from the bounceback to an AP is that with an AP code you can add the DDP without having to buy those one day park tickets that are required with the bounceback deals if you want the DDP.

Oh, wow, now that is interesting! Is that for real that we can use the AP discount, add dining and not have to buy two base tickets? That'd be great if the AP was 40% and then we could add dining without having to buy tickets for both of us since we only need tickets for me. My daughter has the AP this year. Thanks very much! :)

Yes, you can get your AP discount, buy the DDP and you do not need to buy tickets. You need to get an AP ticketless package (or something along this way :confused3).
If your daughter is an AP holder (must be adult AP) go to the passholder site, go to the passholder offers section and click on resorts, pick the package you want and just add dining.

Beware - if you are looking to book FREE dining you need to buy tickets.

True! As the AP holder your daughter would have to be the lead name on the reservation, so would have to be at least 18 y/o.

There are three times people can purchase the DDP and not have to buy park tickets:
1. AP holders paying either rack rate or using an AP discount
2. people staying on DVC points
3. some of the military deals.

For any other deal (pay for 4 nights/get 3 nights free, kids play and stay free, GP room discounts, bounce back room deals, etc) even AP holders must buy at least one day park tickets. For free dining though, two day park tickets are now required.

That is exactly what happened to a friend of mine who travelled in May/June. He ended up booking with a general public code because it came out to be a better deal since the AP discount would have required two different types of rooms.

Unfortunately, the current GP code is unavailable at the Poly for my dates. I really hope I can book with an AP discount, cause rack rate is just too much $$$ :sad2:

Okay, it's now June 26th - where is the AP discount?? I can't imagine they're taking away those discounts as part of the "phase out" plan :confused3

I know, right? I was looking forward to the 24th all week to change from my GP discount to the AP discount so I could add dining, and it never showed up. I know, I know, "rumor", "historically..." blah blah blah :lmao: . Don't bring logic into this. My trip is less than 80 days away and I want my AP Discount ! :goodvibes

Our trip is around 45 days away. We have the first 4 nights at AKV with the AP discount. My original plan was to add a couple of days there, then move to 2 rooms at a value or moderate. They have taken so long, we are now doing Universal for 2 nights after AKV. Still have 9 more nights to book, and offsite is looking better and better. The values I want are only available as preferred (so more money) with the current offer, and I am also hesitant to go there because of the bed situation, they will not guarantee a king in one of our rooms. We stayed in a villa offsite over Easter, and can do it again if we have to.

Still nothing - was hoping they were waiting for Monday morning :sad2:
