September 30th, 2004 Wonder

Okay - everybody needs to "think happy thoughts" and pray that Jeanne stays FAR away!!!:sunny: :sunny:

Hey everyone! It's getting close!!!! We are starting our treck on Friday evening so I'm not sure I will get to post again before then. I just wanted to make sure we are all on the same page for the meet.....Signals after the 4:00 Life Boat Drill, right?

I went to Home Depot today for the mickey head "stickers". They look like stickers until you try to peel them, they're just paper. I guess I can pin one to my shirt. ;)

Anyhow, GOOD LUCK to the brides-to-be. I will say a prayer that everything is beautiful for you and hope to hear about the weddings when we meet.

Everyone be careful and we'll see you soon !!!!!

:cheer2: Janine

Well Janine if I don't see you guys before you leave stay safe and I will see you sometime on Sunday.

As it looks now Jeanne won't bother us unless she decides to turn back towards the islands and Florida. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

----Have a safe drive/flight. Have fun!
----Best wishes to the Happy Couples as well! Take a deep breath and enjoy!!

----I'm getting really worried about Jeanne. Did you see this morning track??? Now she's suppose to make landfall in Florida. Looks like somewhere between the space coast and St. Augustine. Between Sun and Mon. YIKES! Then go back to sea and come back to land in South Carolina. We've had too many hurricanes this summer. Our county can't handle another one! You should see all the blue tarps on people's roofs. 2 of the teachers at my son's school lost their roofs. There's still no plywood in the stores. And still finding gas stations without gas. Sorry for the vent.

Oh Michelle:( !! That is not good news at all:( ! There MUST still be a chance she could avoid Florida! :(

I mean, of course I'm worried about our cruise...but more worried that you guys just CANNOT TAKE another hit :(

I will keep praying and doing the good weather dances!

Janine - have a great trip and we'll see you after the boat drill a week from today!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!

Okay - everybody? QUICK! Go to the www.local6.com port canaveral webcam! The last time I looked, it was turned away from the Wonder, but it will turn back soon, I'm sure!! It will make us all feel better:Pinkbounc !

She should be MOVIN' soon :p

I am trying not to FREAK about Jeanne:eek:

I have read that they are already talking about having the 9/26 Wonder leave from Fort Lauderdale but maybe that's changed again....

Current track of Jeanne makes it a category 1 as it goes through our county. Our county, Polk, had the eye of both Charlie and Frances go through it. I guess chances of a 3rd one doing the same thing is much smaller. There is a huge margin for error on the track of the hurricane, so who knows where it will make landfall. When we moved from Pennsylvania to Florida, I insisted we move inland because of hurricanes. And this is the 1st year any have made an impact.

Michelle - how far away from PC are you? Have you heard anything about how Jeanne affected/will affect the Bahamas? I'm going to keep a sharp eye on the weather channel all weekend AGAIN and hope that our cruise is an UNEVENTFUL one:( I have been keeping track of what's going on the the Wonder that left today - apparently they are planning Day at Sea and then Key West ???

No CC :(

It takes us 45 min to get to WDW then an hour drive to PC. At this point, they are only expecting tropical storm force winds in the bahamas. Since the water near Fl is so warm, they expect Jeanne to become a cat 3 before making landfall. The computer models are all over the place. There is a huge margin for error. They won't know for sure what her path will be in Fl until 6 hours before it is to hit land. For thurs, they are only calling for 30% chance of rain, so should ne nice by then. It's just sunday that is questionable here.

If you look at the NOAA projected path from 5pm, we are where the "H" is in the center of the state...YIKES!

There is a huge margin for error.

I'm going to pray that because of that? Jeanne just goes away, Michelle!

I have to say, I'm rather surprised that DCL is already telling Sunday's Wonder cruisers that they will be leaving from Port Everglades!

I am thinking that by the time WE sail? All will be well.

I will pray that you and yours stay safe and sound and Jeanne STEERS CLEAR!!

I am looking forward to that celebratory 'we made it' cocktail!

Bridget

Michelle:(
I am worried for you! But there still seems to be a little glimmer of hope in the erratic behavior of this one....

Man, just when we thought it was safe to just start looking forward to the cruise...I just can't believe it. I've been sitting here reading all the new posts today and just shaking my head. :(

Michelle - Disney has just posted that the Wonder that was supposed to leave Sunday is now leaving Monday and will be only a 3-day cruise - they don't know where it's going yet - and will return to Port Canaveral on Thursday, 9/30.

Man, I really hope this baby TURNS SOMEPLACE ELSE.

Bridget, where do you go to get these updates from Disney? How can we find out what is going on while we are on the way down and don't have access to a computer? I am scared......

Janine - don't be scared! I think our cruise will go off just fine:sunny:
I am going to JUST KEEP SAYING THAT:sunny: :sunny:

I go to the cruise line forum of this board a lot - many people updating stuff all the time.

Also - keep the Disney Cruise Line number handy (800) 951-3532 and just keep on dialin'!

At this point, they are saying that the ship will be coming back into Port Canaveral next Thursday from the sailing on Monday - they are telling the folks sailing on Monday to only change the itinerary of their flights INTO Orlando - they expect to be able to sail into PC without incident on Thursday - the day we board and leave :bounce:

Don't worry, all will be well :)

They are telling us that the bad weather will just be this weekend. By Thusday all will be fine! My gut feeling is that it will miss us. They said the chance of us getting hit (having eye go through) by 3 major hurricanes is 4 in 20 million. The odds are in our favor! One of the models shows it not even touching the US. That's my prayer!!! Then it won't affect any flights or anything!!!

Glimmer of hope!!! Our weather person said that the new shift of the path of Jeanne gives it more of a chance to move off shore. It all depends on the high pressure system that's pushing it west. If this high pressure shifts to a north/south direction sooner than expected, the northern movement of the storm will be able to proceed making the impact on the US much less. Current models show it hitting the Bahamas then making landfall in Melbourne, but that is only IF current conditions remain. There is still alot of time for it to shift. Hopefully the track will shift way more north and way more east sparing Port Canaveral! Once again, by Thursday the weather looks great!

Bless you for sharing this news this morning, Michelle! You must be feeling just a LITTLE bit better - if not completely relieved yet!

My weather man here in L.A. this morning has it going up "the space coast" (ARGH!) but considering the fact that he's 3000 miles away?? What the heck does he know anyway - LOL!

At this point, I told my DBF, I don't care if we sail around the HARBOR! We're GOING! lol:Pinkbounc
