September 30, 2012 - "To San Francisco and Beyond"

I'm going to be packing this weekend- it's our first cruise, so let me know if I've got this right...

For just walking around/hanging out on the ship, shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops are fine. And that's even ok for breakfast and lunch, but certain clothes are requested at dinner, which are as follows:

1 formal night*
1 semi-formal night*
1 pirate party (family friendly pirate-themed outfits encouraged)
4 cruise casual nights (no shorts/tank tops)

* for both of these nights, hubby would be ok to wear nice khakis, a button-down dress shirt, and a tie. (Note: We're not going to Palo this time but understand it has a more enforced dress code).

Though SoCal is still fairly warm this time of year, at least one pair of pants/jeans (maybe two?) are probably a good idea. And at least one sweater/hoodie.

Do I have this all right? (And course we'll need swimsuits, too!)

Thanks!

It gets pretty chilly in SF and when out at sea. I always overpack and bring too much, but I'd also include a jacket and another pair of jeans. That's just me though. I like to be prepared. Last Disney cruise (repo to Vancouver in April) was very cold on pirate night. We had to really bundle up. Gets windy too.

Sounds good. Bring 2 pairs of jeans, one hoodie, and at least one light sweater

While at sea it is usually mid 60's to mid 70's

San Francisco's weather is always iffy, so had planned on pcaking jeans and a sweatshirt.

HOLY COW! I added this to my "Signature" via Tinypic and let it default thinking it would not be so big........Yikes!

Susie and I will be there too* we should do a meet up with people at MNSSHP, we can show you guys all around we are there every week and went to last years party.

Great! It will be our first time to DL.

Please be sure to bring layers for your visit to San Francisco, I was at the Ballpark last night and it was cold and windy. For the first time ever, I left the game before the end. I had on cords, long sleeve shirt, light sweater, heavy jacket, knit gloves and a muffler. I was sitting up in the nosebleed section, but it was chilly....

For any BaseBall fans, AT&T has daily tours of the ballpark, the Giants are on the road when we're there.

Our Fish Extender gifts are finished!!!

I think I have one more little girl gift to make. I may have too many adult gifts, lol. Oh well, I'll figure it out when we get our spreadsheet this weekend.

I can't believe we are 10 days away! I'm so looking forward to being on board. I'm going to schedule some spa while onboard once I see what is going on that I don't want to miss!

Looking forward to the meet up onboard and our group brunch!

And I have too many little girl gifts & not enough adults so we cancel each other out! ;) Sure wish I was finished! I'm having to re-do a bunch cuz something didn't work. :-(

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I was originally gonna go w/ a few more 'warm-ish' clothes/layers, but didn't want to pack more than needed. It was helpful to hear from folks that it's worth the extra space used for those things!

Just went on the disney cruise line website to see if my room number was available yet. Looks like a got a minor upgrade (deluxe inside staterrom number 7505 when i just paid for a standard inside stateroom with restrictions.) We are coming in on Friday for a couple days at disneyland (doing Mickeys Halloween party on the 28) so only 8 days til my vacation officially starts!

Tyler...

Thank you for your stateroom #...I have added it to the FE list. Have a great time at Mickey's Halloween party. See you soon...

Anyone going to see the space shuttle tomorrow?

Yeah, we're heading to JPL in the morning to watch it fly over. Are you heading to the park and watch it fly over ?

Another note on what clothing to pack, a good pair of walking shoes is a must for touring San Francisco, it's probably going to be far too cold for flip flops or sandals. Yes we're in California, but it's a totally different climate than Southern California. It will be warmer in Marin/Sonoma for those on any of the wine tasting tours, and it should be warmer for those venturing to the east bay, but San Francisco tends to be pleasant in the daytime, but chilly as soon as the sun goes down.

Welcome to the Instagram group. I think it will be another fun way to 'socialize' :)

I was thinking the same think about spa services. I also want to tie them in with formal night which apparently was the first sea day for the first group.

I think I forgot to update everyone but I added the other photos of the Disney Wonder sailing away to the same album.

Here is the link again.

Is this the right link Sigris? I'm being taken to a DVC album.

And...how are you feeling? My DD has come down with a extreme sore throat so I'm trying to avoid her, lol.
